It exists in phenomena. From phenomena arise four types of conditions. That is, as a basis, abiding in the state of a light-essence, this is called the causal condition, which is ignorance itself. To engage in conceptual thought about it is called the dominant condition. To grasp it as an object is called the objective condition, like the appearance of a person's face in a mirror. These three are the same, so it is called the immediately preceding condition. Because it is one's own basis, but one does not recognize one's own face, one is deluded and the cycle of the three realms is formed. From this, the afflictions become coarse, and the forms of sentient beings become different. From such a basis, delusion arises. Thus it is said. In this way, from the four conditions, the ways of being deluded about cause, effect, name, and various appearances also come from "Auspicious and Beautiful." That is, delusion arises through the four conditions, and ultimately it also comes down to the four conditions. From the condition of grasping the cause as having an object, one is deluded into the cause of various effects. From the condition of grasping the dominant as having an object, one is deluded into various names. From the condition of grasping the object as having intelligence, one is deluded into the effect having no end. From the immediately preceding condition of grasping as having grasping, one is deluded into various appearances. This is the great way of delusion of the basis of Secret Mantra. That is, in the way of appearing, the condition of ignorance appears together with self-arisen coemergence. Ignorance also, together with the five root afflictions, gathers many conceptual thoughts. Together with countless conditions, together with countless ways of appearing, pervaded by ways of appearing. That is, from the uninterrupted appearance of the abiding state of the spontaneously accomplished precious gau box, the basis does not change but transforms into appearance, following after many objects, conceptualizing everything. Although the appearance of the Dharmakaya does not change, in the appearance of delusion, it seems as if changes have occurred. Although Vajrasattva does not have delusion, he shows the way of delusion to sentient beings. Ultimately, reversing one's own appearance back to the basis of one's own condition. Not recognizing that the non-dual appearance is self-arisen, grasping delusion as the dominant, therefore it is the dominant condition. Not recognizing that the fruit of self-awareness is self-arisen, grasping the cause as having dependence, therefore it is the causal condition. Not recognizing that objects and knowledge are empty, grasping the object as an object, therefore it is the objective condition of one's own face. Not recognizing that light is self-arisen in dependence on time, it is not that.

When the knowledge that clings to this arises, that is called the immediately preceding condition. In short, the three kinds of ignorance that are the causal condition are like the face of a person. Among them, the dominant condition that leads to conceptual thought is like a distorting mirror. The objective condition is so-called because the mirror, the face, and the self are apprehended as three things; just as the face and the mirror are conceived as light, the objective condition is the gathering of light, awareness, and the object-possessor as three. When these three are simultaneous, that is the immediately preceding condition, which is the direct appearance of delusion. The way these four conditions operate in the life of a sentient being is as follows: In the aspect of the cause, since Buddhas and sentient beings are one, one recognizes the wisdom that transcends acceptance and rejection, and thus the causal condition is liberated in its own place. The appearance of various objects reverts to the self-display of reality, and thus one is liberated from the dominant condition. Furthermore, since one knows that it does not stray from self-originated wisdom, one is liberated from the objective condition. For the timeless Samantabhadra, since there is no contradiction of before and after, one is liberated from the immediately preceding condition. Thus, the nature of delusion into cause and condition is also caused by the body through the ripening of both, and thus accumulation occurs differently. The mind as the cause, due to the fact that the objects of perception are each different, the object and the mind are also deluded as different. That which includes body and mind, the delusion that arises in the first instant, is called the beginning of samsara. As it says in the *Uttaratantra*: "The beginning of all samsara is from the unseparated, uncreated nature, the object of grasping appears, from conceptual grasping, different appearances arise, the separation of grasping into twelve branches, is the very beginning of samsara." The way the three ignorances delude is: The root that transmits and does not differentiate, because one does not recognize oneself as I, this is also the beginning of samsara. These also exist in the way the twelve links of dependent origination arise in order. At the root of compassion, the three causes of not recognizing one's own nature are ignorance. The four conditions that arise from this are the formations of samsara. From this, coarse knowledge increases, and analyzing the appearance of objects is consciousness. From that, the different name and form arise, which are name and form. The difference of that is the six sense sources that are formed into individual components and colors. Through this, enjoying objects is contact. From this arises
