Moreover, from the gate of the manifestation of speech's function, acts are performed in accordance with the appearances of sentient beings. From the function of spontaneously arisen light and body, there is the appearance of the Sambhogakaya of the Dharmadhatu, from which there is the Great Aeon of Brahma, and from which the appearance of the Nirmanakaya of self-nature is arranged. Like the gate of impure samsara, the teacher who accords with the appearances of the respective states and types of sentient beings who appear, after showing, causes samsara to be emptied. In short, its field and activity are such that the Dharmadhatu and the limits of space are without remainder, and as much as the appearances of Buddhas and sentient beings pervade, so much does it abide without beginning or end, and is therefore called Samantabhadra, the all-good one with complete dominion. As it is said in the Magical Net of Manjushri: "Buddha has no beginning or end. The first Buddha has no cause." The manner of these is also stated by the Protector Maitreya: "Uncompounded and spontaneously accomplished, not realized by other conditions, endowed with knowledge, love, and power, the Buddha himself possesses two benefits. Without beginning, middle, or end, it is uncompounded because it is self-nature. Because it is the nature of the peaceful Dharmakaya, it is said to be spontaneously accomplished. Because it is the object of individual self-realization, it is not realized by other conditions. Thus, it is known to realize the three aspects, and compassion is for showing the path. Power is by means of wisdom and the power of great compassion, so it abandons suffering and affliction. The first three are for one's own benefit, and the latter three are for the benefit of others." Thus, "uncompounded" here refers to the Dharmadhatu, pure, equal, free from elaboration, the great expanse, which is labeled as Kadag (primordial purity). "Spontaneously accomplished" refers to the nature of the three kayas as one. The way of not being realized by other conditions refers to the self-arisen enlightenment from the manifestation of compassion's function, self-awareness. "Endowed with knowledge, love, and power" refers to the complete realization of abandonment and realization of the six dharmas, such as surpassing the ground, and thus manifesting enlightenment as a Buddha, after which there is no more delusion. Thus, it is shown that such a one is a Buddha who spontaneously accomplishes the two benefits. The remaining ones also clearly explain how the emanations arise while abiding in the Dharmadhatu, and in its commentary it is also said: "Thus, it is an extremely wonderful and inconceivable realm, which is the Buddha himself. Without hearing from others, oneself without a teacher, it is the self-born wisdom."

Having manifestly and perfectly attained Buddhahood in an inexpressible nature, in order to enable those who, after that, do not possess realization and have become blind, to also attain realization, and in order to guide them to realization, it should be understood that he possesses unsurpassed wisdom and compassion. Thus it is said. Furthermore, the way sentient beings become deluded from that ground is as follows: Those sentient beings of the three realms who are in a state of ignorance, although there is no delusion in the initial ground, the ignorance of the appearance of the ground is a sudden condition, it is the oneness of self-nature. That downward-going and co-emergent (ignorance), the (ignorance) that universally imputes names, meanings, and self-grasping, from these three ignorances arise four conditions of delusion. The ground itself exists like a house, it is the condition of lineage. Upon this, the arising of conceptual thought is the condition of the lord. From this arises the grasping of objects and subjects, it is the condition of the object. These three occur simultaneously, it is the immediately preceding condition. From the aggregation, gradually, the power of delusion becomes strong, the collection of afflictions increases, and the place and types of samsara are established. The twelve links of dependent origination are like a chariot wheel. Thus, although there is no delusion in the initial ground, the reason for not recognizing its own nature when the ground appears as an object is the ignorance of the oneness of self-nature. From that arises a subtle discriminating consciousness, and as the power of that consciousness gradually increases, the state of merely not recognizing is called co-emergent ignorance. In that state, the appearance of external light is divided into two by the minds of self and other, and from the differentiated part arise name, meaning, and self-grasping, which is the ignorance of universal imputation. Thus, these three ignorances, which are the causes, gather together, just as the object, the eye sense, and the eye consciousness gather together. Just as from the gathering of the eye sense arises the condition of contact, and from that arises feeling. The way the four conditions arise from this is as stated in the Mirror of the Heart of Vajrasattva: All these sentient beings of the three realms are deluded from a ground that is nothing at all. That ground, its essence is emptiness, its nature is luminosity, it has compassion and the ability to appear to sentient beings. Upon that, from the part of ignorance that is the grasper arises a slight trembling, and from that ignorant knowledge arises the thought, "Does it arise from over there, or does it arise from me?" Merely having such a thought is delusion. That ignorance exists on the ground, but will it diminish?
