"The five objects of grasping are liberated in their own place." Furthermore, from the *Thalgyur* (Extremely Obscure Tantra): "The ultimate of the Great Perfection of Naturalness, all phenomena are left in their own place. Appearance and awareness are united in the nature of reality, primordial liberation is simply resting in the present. Conception transcends the intellect, and the conditioned is purified in its own place. The view of emptiness and phenomena is liberated, movement ceases, and there is no thought, the intellect ceases, and it transcends consciousness." Thus it is. The essence of awareness is primordial emptiness, rootless, baseless, beyond dependence, without cause and effect, without trace, like the sky. Therefore, from that state, no matter what appears through its own power, there is no appearance, it is the self-nature of emptiness, clear and liberated from the beginning, without difference, simply clear, never changing into another form, but remaining in that way. In that very text, it says: "What is called self-liberation of mind, does not go from one place to another. There is no mind that liberates, because it is complete from the ground, there is no coming or going. It cannot be found by searching, there is no reason. Because there is no basis, it abides in emptiness and clarity. That self-clear abiding mind, is liberated by the key point, so there is no bias. It is liberated by time, so there is no dependence. It is liberated without effort, so there is no diligence. It is liberated by confidence, so there is no effort. It is explained as liberated by confidence. Because it is primordially liberated, there is no basis for repetition. Because it is self-liberated, there is no antidote. Because it is liberated by staring, it disappears in the place of seeing. Because it is completely liberated, there is no effort." Thus it is. Secondly, the characteristic of self-liberation is that it does not depend on an antidote. In the Mind Series, it says: "Liberation is self-born, not from another." Thus it is. All phenomena of appearance and sound arise from themselves. Self-liberation is like water and bubbles. Thus, this is the self-liberation where the way of abiding of the nature of reality, which transcends existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation, is already established in oneself, but for some beings, the view of grasping the five aggregates as empty, and the clinging to the obscurations of knowledge, and mixing in the flawed concepts of view, meditation, and action, is like moss covering the calm and clear water of a river. So, what is the need to explain the truth of view, meditation, and action from all phenomena? For those who do not understand the key point of self-liberation, first, the nature of reality is regarded as knowable, and the view and meditation of conceptual intellect are shown as if they were the true path, and then the wisdom that distinguishes is returned to the sphere of what is distinguished, as a means.

That is, as it says in the Garland of Pearls: The nature of the two truths is only the conventional truth of the world, and has no connection with the true reality. In the realm of emptiness, all are liberated in its essence. Therefore, all the path truths are conditioned, so the way of gradually pacifying into the Dharmakaya realm. Among the two truths, the name "ultimate" is given to that which is unborn and pacifies all elaborations. Thus, the ultimate truth is also just a term established by words, because it has no own-being. If the characteristic of no-own-being is not self-liberation, then its opposite, including all eight aggregates of consciousness, cannot be liberated by other conditions, because all dharmas are the opposite of no-own-being. As it is said in the All-Creating King: The nature of the cause is like a vajra, similar to a condition. Because it is unborn, it is indestructible. From the beginning, the essence is bodhichitta, and the realm of searching thought does not move. Therefore, self-liberation is the true nature of reality, inseparable and true. And its obscurations or obstacles reside in the consciousness of thinking and contemplating. This consciousness does not go beyond the eight aggregates of consciousness, so the self-liberated nature of reality creates samsara only because of ignorance. As it says in the Compendium: Sentient beings, lower, middle, and higher, all that there are, arise from ignorance, as the Sugata said. Therefore, self-liberation is like a snake knot untying itself, and does not require another liberator. If there is no logic of bondage, then by what can the logic of liberation be established? Inwardly, in the very nature of self-liberation, knowing how to relax, not making predictions, and all aspects of engaging in the objects of grasping and clinging, will all be liberated without inherent existence. As it says in the Six Spaces: These appearing objects, like a snake knot self-liberating, are liberated and perfected in their own place. Third, the characteristic of sudden liberation is: liberation through the moment of mind, and the key point of the great descent of the gaze of the eye. As it says in the Essence of Earth: With the great gaze of sudden liberation, both Buddhas and sentient beings are liberated. That is to say, in this way, on the object of sight, the first moment when the two eye-consciousnesses stare directly, the elaboration of form appearing to oneself
