Therefore, the undifferentiated truth is pure and equal, and it is the aspect of not knowing how to use the Dharmadhatu, which transcends cause and effect, as a path. As the "Precious Garland of the Middle Way" says: "Because knowledge ceases existence and non-existence, it transcends sin and merit. Outside of its happy and miserable realms, it is only considered liberation." By whom will this reasoning be refuted? Here, the inconceivable wisdom of the Great Perfection of Naturalness is to realize the past mind, to observe the future mind, and with whatever discriminating consciousness of the present mind, whatever sectarian conceptualizations, and the compounded Dharma of the Path Truth cannot be abandoned, therefore knowledge is bound to its nature, and although it is a contradictory Dharma, it is not contradictory to all the great sutras publicly taught by the Teacher himself. As the "Noble Jewel Heap Sutra" says: "Light Protector, what is the medicine that transcends the world? It is the diligence of thoroughly searching for one's own mind. Light Protector, the mind is inconceivable, unspeakable, without appearance, without discrimination, without location. Light Protector, the mind is not seen, is not seen, and will not be seen even by all the Buddhas. Light Protector, the mind is not found even if it is universally sought. That which is not found is unobservable. That which is unobservable is neither past, nor future, nor present arising. That which is neither past, nor future, nor present arising is truly transcendent of the three times." Thus it is. Such a Dharma nature of reality is the basis for the explanation of the Great Perfection of Naturalness, and it is from this that the profound meaning of the Middle Way instructions that are free from all extremes is thoroughly understood, therefore it is the aspect of contradicting the way of grasping knowledge and appearance as interdependent. Knowledge is not bound by appearance, the substance of emptiness, the essence of the self-luminous nature of emptiness, is the body and wisdom realm that abides in awareness, like the essence of the sun, without gathering or scattering. Among these, in general, the nature of knowledge is not mixed with the object of appearance, but is the self-nature of emptiness by the appropriation of the five aggregates. Thus, the characteristic of emptiness is not to be regarded as nihilistic emptiness, but as the nature of self-luminousness. As the "Heart Sutra" also says: Form is emptiness. Emptiness is form. Form is not different from emptiness.
