Even if enjoying the happiness of the heavens, if vows are broken and the ten virtues, which are contrary to that, are not practiced, one will fall into the lower realms. This is what the Buddha taught. Some with pride act for the sake of war; some abandon discipline to maintain their household, like the noble Rinchen Drak. Similarly, there is the wandering ascetic Sangha Acharya who gave up his life for the sake of hatred, the monk Devadatta who practiced asceticism for the sake of jealousy, the king without limbs who abandoned the true Dharma for the sake of ignorance, the merchant's daughter who abandoned shame for the sake of desire, and the son of King Leksyong who abandoned conscientiousness for the sake of lust, and so on. In short, in this world, people dare to give up their bodies and lives for the sake of evil, but they are stingy even with land and water for the sake of virtue. Therefore, the lower realms are like the dust of the earth, and the higher realms are like the dust of a fingernail. This is a great cause for sorrow in every way. Thus, even if non-virtuous actions are done for the sake of others, the ripening of karma cannot be shared. This is because: Whether for the sake of the field of merit, relatives, or retinue,

Born in... The son attained the fruit of an Arhat. The husband is like being born in the realm of Brahma. Furthermore, in order to protect retinues and countries, even performing powerful actions such as warfare, since the protectors are Bodhisattvas endowed with skillful means, it is not universally applicable. If one carefully examines the individual thoughts and motivations of ordinary beings, it is not protecting others, but protecting oneself, and such sins are extremely difficult to endure. As the noble teacher said: "You should not commit sins for the sake of Brahmins, monks, gods, guests, parents, consorts, and retinues, lest you have a share in the ripening of hell." So it is said. There is one point to dispel doubt about this. If committing sins for the sake of Brahmins and others would turn one into someone who does not desire the ripening of karma, why does it not ripen immediately? When thinking like this, it is mentioned, "Whatever sinful deeds are committed," etc. Thus, although it does not cut off as if pointing to the moment of sin, nevertheless, when the time of death arrives, the fruits of sinful deeds will manifest. This is explained by the teacher Mahamati. Also, to show that the noble path does not arise when abiding in worldly dharmas, one craves gain and desires only happiness, focuses on fame and becomes content when praised, and because of one of these, one is blamed by the other four. These children are deceived by the eight worldly dharmas. Thus, in the world, there are eight dharmas that are not sacred dharmas but are called worldly dharmas, namely, the dharma of craving gain, the dharma of desiring happiness, the dharma of focusing on fame, the dharma of being satisfied by praise, and the four dharmas that are incompatible with these: not obtaining, unhappiness, unpleasantness, and blame, which make the mind unhappy. These eight dharmas are the dharmas that deceive children. Furthermore, if we measure the scope of the meaning of words with the commentaries of the treatises of the noble ones, the Letter to a Friend says: The wise ones of the world say that gain and loss, pleasure and pain, praise and blame are the eight worldly dharmas.

Please do not be swayed by my thoughts and remain impartial. The meaning of this sentence is that worldly dharmas, such as gaining or not gaining, etc., refer to the pleasant and unpleasant feelings associated with them. Gaining, etc., does not refer to what the noble ones possess. Therefore, it should be understood that due to the object of focus, there are eight types of worldly dharmas. Among them, unpleasant words and slander should be understood from the distinction between secret and non-secret. In short, if the conceptualizations arising from these eight worldly dharmas, the four of gaining, etc., produce pleasure, and the four of not gaining, etc., produce displeasure, if one cannot remain impartial, then even the subtle aspects of accepting and rejecting cause and effect cannot be accomplished. This shows that merely abiding in worldly dharmas, the path of the noble ones will not arise. Furthermore, clinging to the other thirteen worldly dharmas and indulging in evil deeds will also lead to falling into the lower realms. This is what is being expressed: Boasting of lineage, appearance, power, etc., Laziness hides in the guise of a lazy demon, Arrogance arises from pride, These all become rakshasas who hate the merit of asceticism. Greed With the strong power of attachment, With the all-encompassing vines of deception, Even if one deludes others and protects oneself, Great harm will enter one's own heart. This is explained with ornate language, revolving around the meaning, that is: being arrogant with lineage, arrogant with appearance, arrogant with power, arrogant with learning, arrogant with youth, these five elevate themselves. Laziness, which is the opposite of diligence, or sleeping like a lazy demon, In particular, for things that should be obtained, thinking that one has obtained them as if they should not be obtained, arrogance arises from pride. The rakshasas who hate the merit of asceticism are desire and hatred. Greed is not considering debt and always clinging to one's own perfection. Attachment is craving for self and enjoyment. These suppress the mind, and deception accompanied by extremely unstable wavering concepts, Being accustomed to deceiving others is hypocrisy. Like that
