‘The Tantra Containing Ten Sections’ is a prophecy. Then, in Kalapa, the ‘Kalachakra Tantra’ was compiled. This was spoken by Manjushri in order to subdue all the sages. Bodhisattva Jigten Gonpo also said that the Bhagavan Manjushri's emanation, from the lineage of King Drakpa (father) and Goddess Tara (mother), emanated as Padma Karpo (Lotus White), the Dharma King. Then, the Tantra compiled by Bhagavan Manjushri was written into books, and (Padma Karpo) was requested to make commentaries. After that, (Manjushri) departed to other realms. Bodhisattva Jigten Gonpo also, by the power of the Tathagata's prophecy and the encouragement of Manjushri, following from the root Tantra, composed the twelve thousand-verse commentary called ‘Vimalaprabha’ (Stainless Light), with ‘Namasangiti’ (The Song of Names) as witness. (Padma Karpo I, completed the writing of the compiled Tantra, following the root Tantra, and composed the twelve thousand-verse treatise.) In order to accomplish the benefit of oneself and the benefit of others, Jigten Gonpo paid homage to his own commitment. So, to whom does he pay homage? He pays homage to glorious Kalachakra. ‘Sri’ (Glorious) means the non-dual wisdom (Jnana), the immutable bliss-emptiness (Sukha-shunyata). Whoever possesses it is glorious. ‘Kala’ (Time) means the external past, future, and present, the nature of the moon and sun. ‘Chakra’ (Wheel) means years, months, directions, days and nights, hours, moments, and breaths. The internal ‘time’ refers to the twelve transmutations such as Makara in the right and left channels, and the ‘wheel’ refers to twenty-one thousand six hundred breaths. By what means does time become the unobstructed nature, that is glorious Kalachakra. Another explanation is that ‘time’ is the cause of exhausting all obscurations, the unchanging wisdom, which is skillful means (Upaya). ‘Chakra’ is the three realms abiding within the mind, which is knowable, which is wisdom (Prajna). The oneness of these is Kalachakra. (Non-dual, unchanging, without follower, supreme desire, unchanging, great attachment, abandoning existent and non-existent, wisdom is of one taste, all auspicious.) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'Excellent! Afflictions with and without, co-emergent holding bindu, glorious Kalachakra Vajra, the nature of skillful means and wisdom.' Furthermore, that which is devoid of cause, absorbed, and gradually bound by the moving mind is called Kalachakra. What is that like? It is called the nature of emptiness and compassion. Emptiness is the nature of experience, not the nature of (unexperienced) matter. There are also three types of experience: initially (virtuous) experience, intermediately (virtuous) experience, and finally (virtuous) experience. That is, perfecting various forms through paths such as smoke, and obtaining the immutable moment, is the initial (virtuous) experience. Obtaining the ten bhumis with one million eight hundred supreme immutable moments, and obtaining the five clairvoyances and all worldly siddhis, is the intermediate (virtuous) experience. Obtaining the twelfth bhumi with twenty-six thousand supreme immutable moments, and the siddhi of Mahamudra, which is Vajrasattva himself, is the final (virtuous) experience. What is called compassion is (immutable bliss) objectless compassion (great), although it is self-awareness, it transcends conceptualization, and is not the nature of conceptualization. Their nature is called the nature of emptiness and compassion. 'The body of emptiness and compassion, time is conventional with form, emptiness is called chakra, Kalachakra is said to be non-dual.' Is that not the nature of samsara? 'Does not possess the arising and ceasing of the three realms,' that is, wherever there is existence such as birth, old age, and death, there are the three existences of desire realm, form realm, and formless realm. Just as there is arising and ceasing in them, so too, that which is without them is called 'does not possess the arising and ceasing of the three realms,' meaning that it has reached the other shore of samsara. Furthermore, regarding 'the body of knowledge and knowable as one,' knowledge is the nature of self-awareness, the grasping mind. Knowable is the nature of dharmata, the grasped mind. Since they become the nature of equality, they are knowledge and knowable. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
