Having the most excellent and auspicious divine substances bestowed as blessings placed on the crown of the head, I respectfully offer homage. Written by Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, the recluse, may it be virtuous! Herein resides the Jamyang Lama's Yoga called "Bestowing the Light of Wisdom." Namo Guru Manjughoshaya. (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: नमः गुरु मञ्जुघोषा य, Sanskrit Romanization: namaḥ guru mañjughoṣāya, Literal Chinese meaning: Homage to Guru, Manjughosha) Therefore, in order to ensure that all beings, self and others, are liberated from the cycle of the three realms, and in order to quickly attain the state of omniscient knowledge that does not abide in either extreme, one should study the immeasurable doors of samadhi and dharani. For this purpose, one should first enter the profound yoga of meditating on the form of Manjushri Kumarabhuta, the lord of all families and the master of the wheel. Seated on a comfortable cushion, endowed with the conduct of meditation, one should clearly visualize the objects of refuge in the space in front as if they were actually present. Taking refuge: I and all beings in the city of existence, Drowning in the ocean of suffering with no visible end, To protect us from that, we take refuge in the Lama and the Three Jewels, Until the essence of enlightenment is reached. Generating Bodhicitta: Though wisdom transcends the activities of existence, Compassion does not fall into the extreme of peace, In order to attain the wisdom body of Lama Manjushri Kumarabhuta, I will practice this profound yoga. Visualizing the Field of Merit: Om Svabhava Shuddha Sarva Dharma Svabhava Shuddho 'Ham. (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ svabhāva śuddhāḥ sarva dharmāḥ svabhāva śuddho 'haṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, self-nature pure, all dharmas, self-nature pure, I) From the state of luminous emptiness arises illusory manifestation, All of existence and environment become the pure land of Sukhavati, In the center of a captivating and wondrous arrangement without limit, On a lotus and moon seat, oneself in an instant, Transforms into the Bhagavati, the mistress of the ocean of sound, With a radiant white complexion and the youthfulness of a new autumn moon, Completely endowed with the beauty of marks and signs, The two hands gently strum the turquoise lute, The two feet are seated in the posture of vajra cross-legged, The hair is tied with fragrant flower garlands, Adorned with various silks and precious jewels, Clear like a rainbow in the sky of appearance and emptiness, In the space in front, amidst captivating clouds of offerings, On a seat of various lotuses and moon discs, The root Lama, the lord of all families, Manifests as the wisdom body of Manjushri Kumarabhuta, Like a golden mountain washed with saffron water, The splendor of marks and signs embraced by billions of young suns, Whoever sees it is pleased without exception.

With your right hand, you brandish the wisdom sword that cuts through the net of grasping. With your left hand, you hold the stem of a blossoming lotus, upon which rests the book of the Prajnaparamita in One Hundred Thousand Verses. Adorned with five locks of hair, silk, and jewels, you lean against a backdrop of moonlight. Your two feet are seated upright in the vajra posture. Surrounding you is a cloud of refuge sources like an ocean. All are marked with the three syllables Om (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओम्, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Literal Meaning: Om), Ah (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आः, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, Literal Meaning: Ah), and Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Meaning: Hum) at the three places. Rays of light emanate, inviting the wisdom beings to merge into non-duality. From that merging, all the refuge sources become the reality of oneness. May you joyfully appear before me. In order to accumulate merit, like arranging the seven-branch offering separately, or summarizing it: I and all limitless sentient beings, transforming our bodies into as many as the dust particles of the fields, to Manjushri Lama and his retinue's lotus feet, with body, speech, and mind, we always pay homage with reverence. We offer clouds of offerings, both real and imagined, like an ocean. We confess all sins and downfalls, rejoice in all virtuous deeds, request the turning of the Dharma wheel, request not to pass into nirvana but to remain long in this world. We dedicate all virtuous accumulations for the sake of attaining unsurpassed enlightenment. Thus, we perform prostrations and so on. We offer the mandala, whether elaborate or concise, as appropriate. In order to inspire the mindstream, we pray: Namo Guru Manjughoshaya. The wisdom body of all Buddhas pervading space, condensed into one, the steadfast wheel of the Lama, from the depths of an unwavering heart, I pray with reverence. Please look upon me with eyes of compassion, Manjushri. At this time when we have obtained the precious human body with leisure and opportunity, with the diligence of remembering death without delay, without attachment to all the perfections of samsara, generate the wisdom of wanting liberation, Manjushri. From now on, in all lifetimes, may we be able to serve the lotus feet of the qualified Lama, the virtuous friend, with the three ways of pleasing him. Please grant us this excellent fortune. From that, may our vows and moral conduct be completely pure. May we reach the other shore of vast hearing and contemplation. With single-pointed meditation, may we open the hundred doors of the treasure of the union of shamatha and vipassana. May we refute wrong views, guide others, and not be ignorant of the common fields of knowledge. Especially, may we be granted unerring wisdom regarding the profound secrets of the Tripitaka and the Tantras, Manjushri. Eloquent in speech, possessing wisdom, captivating the minds of billions, with debate, defeating the arrogance of opponents' errors, writ
