Gapo, Gonkar, Takshon, Trakkad, the Ten Direction Protectors, Karma Yamantaka, Magzor Gyalmo, and the general offering to all Dakinis, were practiced without omission. He was always compassionate, and all the necessary steps of the practice lineage of the previous Lamas were without error. All his activities of teaching the Dharma were complete with the three parts of preparation, main practice, and conclusion, and his words were rich, making him an example of a holy person and a leader among Dharma speakers. Thus, he completed his life and the three wheels of activities. When his holy uncle, Palden Chokyong, was twenty-five years old, in the first month of the Fire Horse year (year to be determined), he gave very detailed prophecies and last testaments about his future destination, and on the fourteenth day of the second month, he straightened his body, manifested mindfulness, and without his mind wavering, he remained in the Samadhi of clear light pervading the sky. From then on, the sky was filled with rainbows and clouds. Especially on the eighteenth, various different forms of rainbows and clouds appeared, and at the same time, he arose from the clear light into the form of union and went to the pure land. His body leaned in a stretching posture, and a stream of white and red Bodhicitta flowed from his nostrils, manifesting the signs of the highest yoga path. On the twenty-fifth day, Khangsar Khenchen Jampa Sonam Sangpo cremated his body, and inconceivable miraculous signs occurred, such as the falling of rainbows, light, and flowers. In the dream of his holy uncle, he also saw Palden Magzor Gyalmo attending the venerable and holy one as he went to the pure realm. His uncle, Rinpoche Palden Chokyong, performed the subsequent rituals of completion and dedication very extensively. Jampelyang Ngawang Lekdrup was born in the city of Labda, one of the areas called Galong Rushyi, a region well protected by the great Yaksha deity Serspong, one of the five nomadic brothers. He was born into a family dedicated to the path of mantra, which later became the descendants of the Labda family, in the Iron Sheep year of the fourteenth Rabjung (year to be determined). In his youth, he entered the Dongdrak Samtenling monastery.

He offered his hair knot to the reincarnation of Kye-gu Dondrup Lingpa, Ngawang Jampa Chödar. He was named Ngawang Lekdrup. Later, due to the power of regaining emptiness, he went to Thubten Monastery. There, he thoroughly studied the order of Dharma practices and rituals of the Ewam tradition. He also served as a place of offering for reading the precious Kangyur. At the age of nineteen, in the Earth-Female-Ox year (year needs to be verified), he went to the second Oḍḍiyāna, glorious Ewam Chöden. In that year, he listened to the oral instructions from Khenchen Jamyang Paldan Dondrup. The following year, he received full ordination. He also studied logic for a while at Tānak Thubten Namgyal. In particular, according to the Ewam tradition, he mastered the two Tantra examinations, the three modes of reasoning, the Tree, the three vows, the two Manifestation Tantras, the seven treatises needed everywhere, the Ornament for Clear Realization, and the Engaging in Bodhisattva Deeds, thus filling his mind with the words and meanings of the fifteen great treatises, and earning the title of "Eloquent Speaker of the Seven Treatises." It is said that during that time, he consistently copied about six pages a day, thus completing the study of all the above-mentioned treatises in about two and a half years. He also studied craftsmanship and medicine to some extent. In particular, he excelled in the proportions of statues and stupas, the drawing of various mandalas, melodies, and dances.
