It is called "Lashramana," meaning to practice ceasing sins and to train in goodness, hence it is called "Virtuous Practitioner." In reality, this term is mainly used for the noble ones who have renounced the world. Later, it is also used for other renunciates. What is called "Bhikshu" is "Gelong," meaning to seek and search for the meaning of Nirvana, to receive full ordination through supplication and the four karmas, and to live by begging alms in accordance with the Dharma, hence it is called "Gelong." What is called "Upasaka" is one who has received the five precepts and so on, and who dwells close to the fruit of Arhatship, hence it is called "Layman." What is called "Upabama Sabrani," "Upasani" refers to one who has not received the eight vows but attends upon and stays close to the noble ones. "Brani Tishtanati" means to abide, hence it is called "Abiding in Proximity." What is called "Upasambandha," "Upa" means close, "Sampanna" means complete or abundant, like a name. It refers to being close to Nirvana and receiving the pure Bhikshu vows through supplication and the four karmas, hence it is called "Full Ordination." There is also what is called "Upadmaya," which is "Upatyadhi Asmatra," actually referring to going before the one who actually bestows the vows and reciting as the karma statement is recited, hence it refers to bestowing the vows. In the past, fame and meaning were combined and called Khenpo. Also, "Tindraka" is "Ti, to walk; Biyati, Tindraka," similar to building a platform from the seashore to enter the sea, therefore, through asceticism and yoga, etc., practicing various Dharmas and building a platform to enter the sea of Nirvana, hence it is called "Tirthika" (Non-Buddhist). From the names that appear in mantras. "Tan" is called "Tanuprabanchya," which refers to the continuous explanation of the tantric lineage of mantras, such as pacifying and increasing, hence it is called the tantric lineage of mantras. "Man" is called "Mante Gusti Bhashanam," which refers to invoking the deities of mantras and reciting them secretly, hence it is called secret mantra. "Bima" is called "Bijnyana," which refers to residing in the form of a goddess as an antidote to ignorance, hence it is called knowledge mantra. "Bharani" is called "Arbajata Dharayati Dharani," which refers to holding the meaning and words of the Dharma of mantras without forgetting and attaining a special order.
