The bad view is: As it is said, the first teaching, the Vinaya Pitaka and the Abhidhamma Pitaka, etc., have already refuted it. Here it is: With whatever wisdom, existence itself, should be listened to being refuted. The meaning of this sentence is that in the middle it shows refuting the self, and in the end it shows refuting all views. Now is the time, so it is divided into two: the guidance of cutting off the proliferation of true clinging, and the guidance of cutting off the proliferation of non-truth. The first is: In general, to abandon samsara, it is necessary to recognize the main cause of samsara. Therefore, the main cause of wandering in samsara is: the clinging to the five aggregates of one's own continuum as true, which becomes the place of bad views of permanence and annihilation. This is the only true clinging. From that bad true clinging, from the self-affirming proponents of one's own school down to the outsiders, the bad views of permanence and annihilation that penetrate the heart arise. From that, the view of the perishable arises, which views the aggregates as self. From that, afflictions such as attachment arise. By this, bad karma is accumulated, and thus one wanders in samsara. As it is said in the Garland of Jewels: As long as there is clinging to the aggregates, there is clinging to self in it. If there is clinging to self, then from that, and also from that, there is birth. And so on. And in the Sixty Stanzas of Reasoning it says: If one admits that things exist, then attachment and hatred will arise, endless bad views will arise, and from that disputes will arise. As it is said. In this way, if one can recognize the cause of samsara, then the way to abandon it is: as it is said in the Sixty Stanzas of Reasoning: That is the root of all views, without it, afflictions will not arise, therefore if one fully understands it, views and afflictions will completely disappear. If someone wants to know how to understand it, it is through seeing dependent origination, realizing that dependent origination is unborn, this is what the Supreme One said. As it is said, to destroy the true clinging of the aggregates of one's own continuum, it is not enough to merely think that one has not found a reason and the aggregates are not truly established. One must see a pure proof that it is not truly established. And that proof is also as it is said in the sutra: Whatever is born from conditions is unborn. It does not have the nature of birth. Whatever depends on conditions should be seen as emptiness. As it is said, if one's own aggregates, etc., are truly established, then they must be established from the very beginning without relying on any conditions, but these self

Clinging to things as real simply because they arise from causes and conditions like mothers is merely an illusion tainted by beginningless habits. Thinking that there is not even a moment of true existence, one decisively cuts it off. One cultivates refuge and so on, and compassion and the mind of enlightenment from the depths of one's heart. May I attain Buddhahood for the sake of all mother-like beings. For that purpose, may I cut off the root of samsara, which is the clinging to the aggregates of one's own being as real, right now. Thinking in this way, one focuses the mind on the above-mentioned view of cutting off. First, one strives to cut off the conceptual thoughts of clinging to reality. In the middle, one relaxes and loosens the mind on the view, so that all clinging is taken up in the manner of self-liberation. Finally, one alternates or maintains awareness, remaining in a state of astonishment and suddenness while the mindfulness of the view does not diminish. When one gains conviction in this way, as Arya Deva said, "Whatever is the emptiness of one, is the emptiness of all. Whatever is the view of one, is the view of all." Like this saying, all phenomena easily enter into non-reality. Compassion arises spontaneously for sentient beings who have not realized this path. One will understand all the key points of the Dharma at once. This view is in accordance with "In the middle, I will block" and Shantideva's view that "From the force of habituating emptiness, the force of habituating things can be blocked." For those of superior faculties, by cultivating the first stage of the view, the second may also arise simultaneously. If calm abiding has arisen before, then one has already attained the union of calm abiding and insight. If it has not arisen, then here, on the basis of grasping the key point of the view, one grasps the mind of calm abiding, and the view of the union of calm abiding and insight will also arise in the mindstream. Second, cutting off the elaboration of non-reality. In this way, after the view of realizing non-reality has arisen in the mindstream, one has already become a great Madhyamika. Therefore, there is no need to cut off the evil views of permanence and annihilation in their mindstream. However, as Nagarjuna said, "Actions and afflictions arise from conceptualization, and these elaborations arise from elaboration, and emptiness can prevent them." And so on. Actions and afflictions both arise from the conceptualization of clinging to reality, and that clinging to reality also arises from elaboration or sign-clinging. Therefore, with the key point that it must be cut off, not being
