Regarding practice: There are two ways: practicing in conjunction with preliminaries, and practicing in conjunction with the main practice. The first is: In a secluded place, sit comfortably on a cushion in a meditative posture. Visualize the guru, Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha filling the sky in front of you, and place your trust in them wholeheartedly. Vow that you and all other sentient beings will take refuge with the same intention through the three doors of body, speech, and mind. Recite the four-line refuge prayer hundreds or thousands of times, as much as you can. Keep all sentient beings in mind, and for the benefit of all sentient beings, may I attain the state of perfect and complete enlightenment. For this purpose, I will practice the profound teachings of the Dakini's Whispered Lineage. Recite this three times, generating the aspiration and entry of Bodhicitta. When guiding, do the same. In actual practice, recite the meaning of the Sutra of Four Dharmas written by Jowo Rinpoche, reciting "Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha" about three times, so that refuge and Bodhicitta arise simultaneously. Among them, the first verse indicates the object of refuge; "until enlightenment" indicates the time; "I" indicates the individual; "take refuge" indicates the action; "giving and so on" indicates the entering Bodhisattva; "may I attain Buddhahood" indicates the aspiring Bodhisattva. This is what he said. Regarding the actual preliminaries, there are two: practicing in conjunction with the difficulty of finding leisure and endowments and impermanence of death, and practicing in conjunction with the law of karma and the faults of samsara. The first is: Our own bodies are free from illness, our minds are free from suffering, our wishes are fulfilled, and we receive praise and respect from others, and so on. No matter what happiness arises in body and mind, we should not be satisfied with just that. Instead, we may despise others, be jealous of their happiness, be proud of our own happiness, and so on, doing all sorts of things. Therefore, we accumulate many karmas of attachment and aversion, which cause that happiness to become the cause of samsara and the lower realms. Now, no matter what happiness arises, we should be content with it and practice. That is, for ourselves, as mentioned above, no matter what seems to be happiness on the level of body and mind, we should illuminate that happiness with the right path. When experiencing the feeling of happiness, we should know that this happiness is like a dream before waking up, it is only momentary, and it is not worth generating karmas of attachment and aversion for it. It is enough for me to experience this happiness. Like a guesthous

Even if a house is very pleasant and beautiful, we will not stay there for more than one night, so it is not worth being attached to. Even if there are many enjoyments in a hotel, and many people gather in a hotel, we will leave soon, so it is not worth being attached to. Similarly, no matter how many dwellings, enjoyments, retinues, etc. there are in this life, they are only gathered for a short time due to the karma and conditions of previous lives. Because we do not know when we will die, we quickly and quickly separate and go alone to an unknown place. Therefore, do not waste time accumulating the karma of attachment and aversion, but think about it again and again. Similarly, when the body is sick, and there is unbearable intense suffering in the mind, and the suffering that arises from it, if one accumulates a large amount of attachment and aversion because of this, then the suffering itself becomes an obstacle to liberation. Therefore, whatever suffering arises, let the suffering itself end. Do not create any causes such as karma because of it. This appearance of suffering is like a dream when waking up. It is like a hotel that is very dilapidated, without enjoyment, and the people living there scold themselves. No matter what happens, we will leave soon and will not live there forever, so it is not worth being attached to or averse to. Similarly, I do not know whether I will die tonight or tomorrow, no matter what suffering arises, do not waste time accumulating karma because of it. Now, in any case, do not let this short life pass meaninglessly, but do some Dharma, think like that. Secondly, if one is content with whatever happens by connecting it with the law of cause and effect and the faults of samsara, one should practice it happily as much as one can. As mentioned before, if one feels happy, then obtaining such happiness is the result of my previous life's virtuous deeds. What is desired is this happiness, it does not arise from unwholesome causes, but only from wholesome causes. Therefore, in any case, from now until death, until the sun rises tomorrow, until this session ends, one should try to accumulate great, medium, and small virtuous deeds. Whatever suffering arises, experiencing such suffering is unwholesome.
