One should rely on the meaning, not rely on the letters. Those sons or daughters of noble family who follow the letters for the sake of the letters, even they will fall away from the true meaning and will not comprehend other meanings. Thus and so forth, extensively quoted. Quoted from the Maitreya-paripṛcchā-sūtra: Whoever obtains forbearance, he forbears all. He forbears emptiness. He also forbears the person. Why is that? Because the emptiness of the person's body is not other, the person himself is emptiness. He also forbears the sign. He also forbears the signless. Why is that? Because the nature of the sign is signless. He also forbears the aspiration. He also forbears the non-aspiration. Why is that? Because the characteristic of the nature of aspiration is non-aspiration. He also forbears all sentient beings naturally passing into complete nirvana. He also forbears all sentient beings' death and birth. Why is that? Because death and birth are the nature of illusion. Son of noble family, thus obtaining forbearance on the unborn dharma is without contradiction, it is without contradiction to all dharmas. Thus and so forth quoted. Again, regarding the above-mentioned place of bodily solitude: From the course of the sense faculties, life and exertion move, and moving in constant time, is said to be life. Wind, urine, feces, and likewise semen, guiding downwards, this is downward cleansing, the yogi should always know. Chewing, eating, licking, and completely drinking and sucking, whatever always abides equally, is called abiding equally. Going upwards and gathering, eating and chewing, etc., eating, arriving together with knowledge, should be known as the work of upward movement. Pervading, holding oneself, going and likewise returning, because it pervades all joints, it is said to be pervading. Thus it is said. Chapter Four: The Solitude of Mind: The profound instructions of the Tathāgatas, which are not the domain of those who turn their backs on beings, are extremely profound, extremely difficult to grasp, and are the domain of the Buddhas. The very nature of the mind that is completely inquired about is rootless, placeless, baseless, signless.

Pa. Formless, colorless, beyond the senses, not the realm of reasoners. Thus spoke the Blessed One in the words taught in all the tantras. Therefore, abiding in the Vajrayana, those who wish to attain Buddhahood should please the virtuous friend and seek the very nature of their own mind. As the Blessed One said in the Tantra of the Compendium of Reality: 'Son of lineage, in equipoise, examine your own mind individually.' And also, as it says in the Tantra of the Glorious All-Illuminating Manifest Enlightenment: 'Enlightenment is the complete knowledge of one's own mind as it truly is.' Thus, and so forth, extensive and valid scriptural citations are made. Taken from the Wisdom Vajra Samuccaya. The Blessed One declared: Consciousness arises from clear light. That itself is called mind and intellect. All phenomena with the nature of complete defilement and complete purification have that as their root. From that, the two kinds of discriminations of self and other will arise. That consciousness arises riding on the wind. From wind comes fire. From fire comes water. From water comes earth. From those arise the five aggregates, the six sense bases, and the five faculties. All of those are exactly like wind and consciousness. Then, the nature of the three consciousnesses, the appearance is intensely experienced, completely clearly experienced, and from the cause of appearance, the natures will arise. In order to explain those briefly stated words extensively, the compilation will be explained. There, first of all, the other names of the three consciousnesses will be explained. That is also said by the Blessed One with the intention of clarifying the names of wisdom and means, this is expressed in obscure language, but the newly obtained wisdom is not clear. Therefore, the names such as mind, intellect, and consciousness, as well as imputation, other-dependence, perfect accomplishment, desire, hatred, and delusion, the three natures, etc., are common to the Mahayana. The names spoken in this Vajrayana: appearance and appear

arising and, appearance obtaining and, emptiness and, extreme emptiness and, great emptiness and, mind and mental factors and, ignorance and, desire and, detachment from desire and, intermediate desire. Thus, having explained the various names of the mind, now, relying on the characteristics of the nature of individual self-awareness, it will be explained. The Blessed One said that the mind is without shape and color, and is of the nature of space. Thus it is said, and again the Blessed One said that the nature of appearance, and the nature of subsequent experience, should be understood separately, as stated in the scriptures. Therefore, one should enter into its oral instructions, like this: first, universal appearance, and then nature. Among them, appearance and, appearance arising and, appearance obtaining are called the three appearances. What is the characteristic of appearance? It is the nature of no appearance, without body and speech, just as in autumn, the light of the moon's mandala appears in the immaculate sky and pervades, so with the appearance of self-luminous nature, it focuses on all things, so it is appearance. This is the first appearance of emptiness of the wisdom of the ultimate Bodhicitta, oṃ (藏文:ཨོ་,梵文天城体:ओ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡) is the seed relying on the gate of speech, is the cause of stability, for beings with little faith, the Tathagata's intention is not understood, so one should visualize that it is the image of the moon's mandala, or a lotus, or the image of a woman, or the name of the left, or the name of the night, or a gentle thing, the conventional image of the mind is clear. What is the characteristic of appearance arising? It is also the nature of no appearance, free from grasping and grasper, without body and speech, just as in autumn the light of the sun pervades, so with the nature of extreme clarity and immaculateness, it focuses on all things, it is the second Samantabhadra of Bodhicitta, the second in order is the characteristic of extreme emptiness, āḥ (藏文:ཨཱཋ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:阿) is the seed relying on the gate of speech, is the cause of stability, for beings with little faith, the Tathagata's intention is not understood, so it is the sun
