Obstacles are pacified, and lines are drawn with a white skull cup, then especially offering to the earth deity etc., abiding in the place, then making requests, afterwards the disciple abides as the deity, drawing the lines of the sky, the ritual of five colors, pouring out all the colored paints, inviting all the deities, then introducing the disciple, the ritual of the bathing mandala, then the Buddha empowerment, then the hand symbol empowerment, the lama is the deity and the two offerings, bestowing permission, then the farewell ritual, the vajra stake used for the mandala, and even the thread is gathered up, through the twenty rituals explained in detail above, understanding how to expand as it is, the vajra master with exquisite skill, draws the sand mandala. Thus it is said. Also, precious seeds and so on, and flowers and colors and so on, and sand and flour, such a mandala is true. Thus it is said. The Tathagata spoke of two kinds of masters in the Vajrayana, one who mainly practices mantras, one who is focused on meditation. The yogi who abides in the sound of mantra, fully concentrating on visualizing the deity, therefore obtains signs, and can draw the sand mandala. The yogi who abides in the way of mantra, possessing the union of non-dual wisdom, in an illusory way, draws the illusory wheel. Thus it is said. Also, in order to distinguish the ultimate of the karma he has created, arising from the three wisdoms, the four elements and the six senses, the five aggregates and the nine gates, most of the three realms of beings, have four kinds of birth, namely egg-born and womb-born, moisture-born is the third, and the fourth is miraculous birth. Thus it is said. First, ignorance must be understood, secondly, it arises from the mind, the third is called mind, these are all called the three emptinesses. And so on. The wind arising from the three emptinesses body, it itself and is omnipresent, becomes its mount, because self-nature is also empty. From consciousness arises wind, from wind truly arises fire, from fire arises water, from water arises earth, from earth arises aggregates.
