This is the key of establishing a stake in the original ground of liberation. However compassion enters the realm, it does not cut off its own continuation. Do not prevent it from entering internally. By placing it squarely there, the knowledge without inner, outer, or intermediate becomes clear and transparent, so that the appearance of the bardo self-purifies into the radiance of awareness, which is the essential pith instruction for recognizing liberation in direct seeing. Thus it is said. Profound. Furthermore, in the verses of the Vajra Essence: Good thoughts, bad thoughts, unprophesied thoughts, do not fall to any side, there is no master who distinguishes immediate liberation. If awareness does not lose its self-possession, there is no need for anything else beyond this. Thus it is said. Furthermore, in the Oral Instructions of the Omniscient One: Although the essence has no good or bad, increase or decrease, separation or attainment, it is only the conceptual thoughts of the power that separate samsara and nirvana, and deceive meditators, therefore, elaborating on its nature in detail. If we consider it from the perspective of gradual arising, the followers of the great scholar Vimalamitra believe that there are three ways of liberation for conceptual thoughts. Like this, liberation through recognizing conceptual thoughts is like meeting someone you have known before. If the conceptual thought itself is liberated, it is liberated like a snake's knot being untied. Conceptual thoughts become harmless and non-harmful and are liberated into the Dharmakaya. These are explained with three different metaphors. The first is, when awareness abides in a state of clear emptiness and one-pointedness, conceptual thoughts suddenly arise, and this is awareness, which is similar to the formless gods, and has existed since the first moment of arising. Because there are both the conceptual thought that is the object of observation and the thought that is the observer, dualistic grasping is the root of samsara, the source of suffering, and the obstacle on the path and ground, therefore, whether abiding in (this state) or recognizing (this state), whether changing or recognizing (this state), when this becomes the realm of realization, it is a very dangerous place for mistakes. Thus it is said. The second is, if you know how to maintain (awareness) without attachment to it, then the grasping of the object of observation and the observer will dissolve, and you will achieve one-pointed samadhi. Without needing to observe, the conceptual thought itself recognizes itself, and thus attains self-liberation, which is called liberation like a snake's knot being untied. If we speak in terms of Dharma language, this is the subsequent attainment with characteristics that is grasped by skillful means. Although other vehicles consider this to be contrived, the Great Perfection says that the very coarse concept of the recognizer is an obstacle and obscuration, and therefore believes that there is subtle dualistic consciousness. Therefore, abiding in
