Visualize a white A-letter, the essence of the unified wind and mind, shining with light, at the heart, where you comfortably meditate. Recite the sound "Ah" with a long tone, visualizing the A-letter at the heart trembling and almost leaping upwards. Utter "PHRAT" forcefully, visualizing the A-letter dissolving into the heart of Amitabha like a shooting star, and rest in that state. Then, as usual, bring it down again. For the deceased, rest the mind a little while in the indivisibility of Amitabha's heart, one's own mind, and the consciousness of the deceased. Again, visualize an A-letter as before and repeat the transference etc. three times or until faith arises. Alternatively, recite Ah PHRAT three times. The first time, transfer the A-letter from the heart to the throat, the second time to the crown of the head, and the third time to the heart of Amitabha. Do whichever is comfortable. These are oral instructions, different from other texts. Furthermore, in the chapter "Questions of the Close Attendant" in the Ratnakuta Sutra, it says, "Reciting the names of the Three Heaps Sutra three times during the day and three times during the night will definitely lead to liberation from the place of committing sins and will also lead to the attainment of samadhi." And so on, there are extensive explanations. Furthermore, in the detailed ritual of the Net of Meaning (Donzhag) on page 180, it says, "Oṃ Padmoṣṇīṣa Vimale Hūṃ Phaṭ. Reciting the essence of the secret mantra, the ten-syllable mantra, a hundred thousand times will make one irreversible and will transform one's state to the tenth bhumi." And so on. Recite seven times over a conch shell and then blow it in a high place. Whichever sentient beings hear the sound of that conch shell, whether they are men, women, boys, girls, wild animals, birds, or belong to the animal realm, all of them will incline towards the world of the gods. It also says, "Recite seven times over sandalwood and then burn it in a monastery of the Sangha, around a stupa, inside the Sangha, in a crowd of people, or in the palace of a king. Whichever sentient beings smell the fragrance there will perfect the body of the Buddha. Burn it over Dharma robes, and whichever person wears it on their body, all their sins and obscurations will be completely destroyed." And so on, there are extensive explanations. And in the ritual of its bindu (thigle), it says: "Whoever relies on these pills, the pills...

For those who constantly maintain the bindu, all the Tathagatas contemplate. Beyond the world is extremely blissful. After death, where does one transmigrate? One will go to the Sukhavati (Pure Land of Bliss). Wherever one is born, in every lifetime, one always remembers the previous life. Vajrapani, the great Yaksha, surrounded by hundreds of thousands of Yakshas, constantly protects, saves, cherishes, and guards. Thus, it is said, and it is said that accomplishment can be achieved by reciting the secret mantra of the pills a million times. Moreover, in that very text, it is extensively taught that merely seeing the text will lead to non-retrogression, and so on. Khenpo Ngawang Drakpa, in his "Treatise on Deceiving Death," says: Deceiving the Lord of Death is indeed the principle of liberation. For those who are not liberated, it is to prolong life slightly. The cessation of life, senses, and consciousness is the characteristic of death. To live long through skillful means is called deceiving death. Practicing Dharma and subduing the senses, living in samsara as long as possible, thus accumulating merit and other accumulations, greatly increases the causes for enlightenment. In samsara, nothing is seen to be more precious than life. Therefore, quickly, with many skillful means, constantly practice the methods of deceiving death. Thus, starting from observing the external and internal signs of death, and deceiving death through external and internal skillful means, there are four chapters. In the third chapter, it says: Having understood the signs of death of the external and internal self, one should also understand the condensed methods of deceiving the external and internal self. Actions of body and speech are external, actions of meditation are internal. Jewels and medicine are external, the power of yoga is internal. Thus. In explaining the external methods of deceiving death, it says: With faith as the guide, saving the lives of birds, fish, wild animals, snakes, and those on the side of thieves being killed, can transform a short life into a long life. Thus, saving lives, as well as guarding the precepts, saving from fear, abiding in righteousness, making offerings, honoring the supreme, respecting the desired deities, repairing damaged stupas, building supports, offering to the Sangha, reciting sutras, reciting dharanis, offering mandalas, etc., are activities that increase the accumulation of merit. And through the power of jewels, mantras, accomplished medicines, and the essence of nourishment, one is able to.
