The main cause of wandering in samsara is precisely this clinging to reality, which clings to the five aggregates of one's own continuum as true, which has become the place of the evil views of permanence and annihilation. Relying on this clinging to reality, the evil views of permanence and annihilation that penetrate the heart arise from the Realists of our own school to the outsiders. From this arises the view of the perishable aggregate, which clings to the aggregates as self, and from this arise afflictions such as attachment, and by this one accumulates evil deeds, and thus wanders in samsara. As it is said in the Precious Garland: As long as there is clinging to the aggregates, there is clinging to self in them. If there is clinging to self, there is also karma, and from that also there is birth. Thus, having identified what is to be refuted, the way to prevent it is: Without finding a reason, it is not enough to assume that the aggregates are not truly established. A pure proof is needed that can be found by the discriminating wisdom that examines the ultimate truth, to prove that it is not truly established. Moreover, in the Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning, it says: If one admits things, then attachment and hatred will arise, endless evil views will arise, and from that disputes will arise. That is the cause of all views, without it afflictions do not arise. Therefore, if one fully knows it, views and afflictions will be completely eliminated. If one wonders how one will know it, it is by seeing that things arise dependently. The Subduer said that understanding that things arise dependently is unborn is the supreme knowledge. Therefore, the intelligence of dependent arising is said to be the king of all intelligences. If all these phenomena of aggregates, etc., which are imputed by appearance, are truly established, then they must be established from the beginning without depending on any cause or condition. But since each of these is seen as arising solely from the collection of causes and conditions, it is only an illusion that is tainted from the beginning by the habitual tendencies of mental confusion, and in ultimate truth, it is emptiness in which not even a particle is established by its own nature. To reverse the basis of all views: After thus establishing that there is no truth, it is also not necessary that all objective phenomena are without truth. As it says in the Refutation of Debate: If one refutes the absence of self-nature, then self-nature will be well established. Because it is harmed by this reasoning. Therefore, it is necessary to refute the mind that has as its object the holding of no truth, and not to become the object of the mind with dualistic appearances.

Therefore, Shantideva said, "Ultimate reality is not the object of mental consciousness; mental consciousness is considered to be conventional truth." Therefore, after establishing that all phenomena are without inherent existence through the reasoning of dependent origination, one should understand that even the mind that thinks, "It is without inherent existence," is also naturally unfindable. As Shantideva said, "Through familiarity with the thought that nothing exists, that thought too will later be abandoned." Generally speaking, although the inseparability of samsara and nirvana is also discussed in the context of the Madhyamaka school, here it is not merely recognizing that the nature of the mind—conceptual thought—is the union of clarity and emptiness, but rather recognizing that the nature of the mind is naturally luminous. It is not like the self-consciousness of the outsiders, which is permanent, stable, and truly existent, nor is it merely the emptiness of cutting off objects of negation, nor is it a partial emptiness, nor is it an excessive emptiness, nor is it nihilistic emptiness, etc. Rather, it is experiencing the wisdom that is free from the defilements of grasping and being grasped from the very beginning, and knowing that it transcends thought and expression. That is, in terms of view, the poison of ignorance is eliminated by cutting off superimpositions through hearing and thinking; this view is combined with the experience of meditation, thereby eliminating the poison of continuous effort of conceptual thought; this experience is then held by the view—vipashyana, thereby eliminating the poison of defects in experience. This view, which is not contaminated by the three poisons, must be grasped as the essence of practice. The first is to cut off superimpositions through hearing and thinking; the second is to combine it with the experience of shamatha; the third is the way of the union of shamatha and vipashyana. Regarding what is said about "the movement of the channels dissolving," the channels, letters(藏文:ཡི་གེ,梵文天城体:अक्षर,梵文罗马拟音:akṣara,汉语字面意思:字), nectar, and winds are not beyond the reverse side of the clarity and emptiness of mind-essence. Therefore, the reasoning that appears on them, those momentary movements, dissolve into the subtle, innate wisdom, thereby transforming into the nature of the four kayas. This is called the "four kayas of the transformed basis." In short, "movement" refers to the momentary defilements. First, in terms of view, superimpositions on the inseparability of samsara and nirvana are cut off through hearing and thinking. When any kind of experience arises, one enters into the practice of generation stage, etc., thereby transforming the generation stage, etc., into the inseparability of samsara and nirvana, etc. It is like adding the calculation of transformation to a rule, so that whatever object is transformed appears as gold. In general, merely taking view and conceptual thought as view is the view of the causal stage, which is gathered by hearing and thinking; taking experience and samadhi as view is the vase empowerment.
