Only do things for the benefit of others, Having abandoned afflictions and their seeds, there is no need to do things for oneself. The ninth and tenth bhumis are the paths of no more learning, the path of learning refers to temporary abandonment. From the Mother Sutra: "With investigation and analysis is the first dhyana, without investigation but only analysis is the second dhyana, without investigation and without analysis, the mental activity is the third dhyana, gathering joy, the mental activity is the fourth dhyana." Thus it is. In the fourth dhyana, the noble wisdom increases the uncontaminated, and if practiced five times in succession, one will be born in the five pure abodes such as not great. That is, the combination of the first and fourth dhyanas is small, the combination of the first and second dhyanas, and the increase of the fourth dhyana is medium, the first and second and third dhyanas, and the combination of the third and fourth dhyanas is large, each of the four dhyanas internally combined with the fourth dhyana is large, and if these are practiced in a transcendent order, they are extremely large. Transcendent order means abandoning the path of the four dhyanas, so practice until exhaustion, with the lower ascending order, and non-order from one to three, with the upper descending order practiced with four. Whichever of the two, they are all meditative dhyanas practiced by ordinary beings. If according to the gradual, then from the view of the abiding of the mind, up to and including great one-pointedness. The non-conceptual wisdom of the noble ones is the vipashyana that knows the nine samapattis to be without self-nature. The way the nine samapattis, including the form and formless and cessation, arise is: with the wisdom that enters into samadhi, the clarity and emptiness that abides without discriminating anything, with the application of mindfulness, calculation, and analysis, the actual non-discrimination arises, and the interval is with investigation and analysis, which is the samadhi of the first dhyana. From its pure part, the eye and direct perception appear slightly. Also, the near attainment of the stability of the previous mind, without investigation but only analysis, is the application. Also, knowing it in clarity and emptiness, even without subtle mindfulness and discrimination, the clarity and emptiness that arises with the holding of experience is the actual, which is the samadhi of the second dhyana. Also, the near attainment of the stability of that mind, from the emptiness without both investigation and analysis.

Moreover, the actual arising of the special is the third Dhyana. Furthermore, from the preliminary stage where the substance of the previous mind is stable, the joy and happiness of bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality arise even more exceedingly than before, which is the substance of the fourth Dhyana. Each of those, through the gradual process of familiarization, becomes the cause for being born in the three realms of the gods of the form realm, that is, the twelve abodes of individual beings, down to Anabhraka. If the nature of joy and happiness of the Great Fruit is solely inclined towards calm abiding and does not find the radiance of profound clarity, then the stream of sense objects will be cut off, and the essence of both conceptual and non-conceptual thought will be cut off, thus being propelled into the formless realm. That is, when the consciousness of the clear aspect is cut off, familiarizing oneself with the nature of emptiness like the sky, which is not negated, is the sphere of infinite space. By familiarizing oneself with that state, in the face of consciousness, although one contemplates the infinite clear appearance of the Mind-Only school, the sphere of infinite consciousness is taught without cutting off the essence of the six aggregates. By familiarizing oneself in that way, even the subtle feeling known as Mind-Only disappears, and nothing is seen anywhere, which is the mind of nothingness. In that way, the mind that grasps only nothingness, that mind also does not consider existence or non-existence to be established in any way, and is not dense but diffuse, is the sphere of neither existence nor non-existence, which is the mind of the peak of existence. Whichever of those one familiarizes oneself with, one dies in that state and is born there. Cessation is, by blocking the feelings of pleasure and pain and perception, one obtains the Samadhi of cessation. The fifty-one mental factors and the eighty types of conceptual thoughts, etc., in the womb of complete cessation, the qualities of the wisdom aspect have subsided. That is, cessation through analysis and examination by the intellect, and non-examination cessation by abiding in a state free from conceptual thought. The Dhyanas below the Great Fruit, although they only manifest as steps on the path of wisdom, if that appearance is seized by the true Vipassana non-conceptual, then liberation is the characteristic of the noble ones. #div1 The "Increasing Wisdom, a Sadhana of Manjuvajra" composed by Master Nagarjuna.
