Perfecting the wisdom of all four joys, holding the victory banner of auspicious fame, I pray to the great sovereign of hundreds of families. 1 Protector, for the sake of upholding the Buddha's teachings as you wish, in glorious Sakya, as venerable as Vajrasana, in the delightful medicinal land of accomplished ones in the north, I pray that you are born in a wish-fulfilling tree of auspicious signs. 2 From a young age, in the great Buddhist temple, in a stable, virtuous, and perfectly endowed auspicious place, having partaken of the nectar of the Pratimoksha vows, I pray that the white lotus of discipline blossoms there. 3 Having relied upon the feet of the actual Manjushri, Kunga Lodro, Vajradhara Rinchen Gyaltsen, and other non-sectarian holy beings, I pray to reach the other shore of learning. 4 When measuring the places of the inner and outer oceans of scriptures with the unerring three valid cognitions, with the wisdom that fully understands the connections and contradictions, I pray for the purity of thought-arisen wisdom. 5 Because the qualities of realizing the ultimate state arise and depend on practice, through the power of diligently practicing the profound meaning of Sutra and Tantra, I pray to attain meditation-arisen wisdom. 6 For common subjects such as grammar and poetics, as well as the Paramita and Vajrayana, being unimpeded in explaining the ocean of scriptures, I pray to delight the wise. 7 Raising high the banner of confident teachings, from the sharp sword of reasoning with real power, with the eloquence of debate that seizes the arrogance of opponents, I pray to be manifestly elevated by wealth. 8 By spreading the precious garland of biographies of the one named Jamyang Zhonnu Kunga, representing the compositions of well-spoken words endowed with three qualities, I pray to attain mastery of speech. 9 In short, with the excellence of knowing the words and meanings of the three baskets and four classes of tantras, placing oneself and others in the state of supreme bliss, I pray to the incomparable sovereign of the wise. 10 Pratimoksha and Bodhi
