And also said, because it speaks of two great realms. The so-called "two great realms" refer to the great realm of ultimate truth and the great realm of conventional truth. Therefore, it is impossible for the essence of the two truths to be one, nor are they different in essence. These three and a half verses are easy to understand. "Dividing the three-fold completeness and speaking of it as something else" means that from the flawless Dharma of Dzogden, one, two, or three aspects of its qualities are lost. Here, "aspect" refers to one-fourth. How do they speak of these? From "empty in their own essence" and so on, to "regarding appearance and emptiness as the meaning of samsara and nirvana," the ultimate point is to express the views of those wrong views, and the meaning of the words is easy to understand. "If all that appears is conventional samsara," from this sentence to "there are countless other faults in this," these wrong views are refuted by the sacred teachings and valid reasoning of Dzogden. If one believes that all that appears is conventional samsara and all that is empty is ultimate nirvana, countless faults will arise. The meaning of the words is easy to understand. "If the essence of the two truths, samsara and nirvana, is one," then the Tathagatagarbha and adventitious defilements must also be one without distinction. If they are one, then the two aspects of separable and inseparable contradict each other. If the path truth eliminates adventitious defilements, then the Tathagatagarbha must also be eliminated, but that is impossible. Therefore, please examine carefully. Such as these, until "the Dzogden system does not have those faults," it is easy to understand. Because those are not one, but different and unrelated, they abide in the correct view of Dzogden. The view that all knowable things are included in existence and non-existence is the system of dividing the three-fold completeness, which is flawed. Because, although the Dharma-nature Madhyamaka is the supreme of knowable things, it is neither existent nor non-existent. The Dzogden system considers there to be a third aggregate, so it is harmed. Therefore, all knowable things are not included in existence and non-existence, because there is a third aggregate. This is also the commentary on the Compendium of Wisdom Essence by Arya Deva.

Furthermore, it is said that because it is stated as "neither existent nor nonexistent," it becomes the third category. This is what is being said. The third category is also of two types: the third category that is conventionally true and the third category that is ultimately true. Similarly, there are very many third categories such as whether something is conditioned or unconditioned, whether it is impermanent or permanent, whether it is consciousness or non-consciousness, whether it is wisdom or non-wisdom, etc. But this is the ultimately true, unconditioned, permanent wisdom, namely: The lord who has exhausted existence and non-existence, Who is without beginning or end and is peaceful, I prostrate to that Bodhicitta. This is what is being said. In the ultimately true third category, there is the third category that is neither both nor not both, which converges into one meaning, as it is said: Existence and non-existence, The Tathagata who is liberated from the beginning. Etc., which speaks of the third category that is both. The third category that is neither has already been explained. Thus, in the ultimately true third category, the third categories of both and neither converge into one, but in the conventionally true third category, this is not possible, because ultimately true is without the fault of contradictory aggregation, while conventionally true has the fault of contradictory aggregation. Thus, although there is a third category for existence and non-existence, there is no third category for matter and consciousness, because all knowable things are definitively divided into matter and consciousness. Moreover, if it is knowable, it cannot go beyond self-awareness and non-self-awareness. If it is self-aware, it contradicts non-self-awareness, and if it is non-self-aware, it contradicts self-awareness, therefore there is no third category. Therefore, there is no third category in this. This is called the Dzogden (rDzogs ldan) Dharma system. Because it is not an object of the three-in-one division, it is difficult to comprehend. According to the system of those with the fault of the three-in-one division, the nature of reality, suchness, the ultimate limit, etc., are considered to be the third category that is neither matter nor consciousness, but there are very many objections to this. What are they? If the realm of phenomena is not consciousness, then, How do you establish the wisdom that is inseparable from the realm and consciousness, the wisdom of the realm of phenomena, and the ultimately true self-arisen wisdom? Conditioned is impermanent
