Therefore, by perfecting the accumulation of numerous intrinsic wisdoms, and being free from all adventitious stains, one obtains the first (sku, kU, body, body), the Dharmata Svabhavikakaya, which possesses both purities. Secondly, through the growth of the lineage of vast transformation, by perfecting the accumulation of merit, one obtains the subsequent (sku, kU, body, body), the Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya, which appear to sentient beings, near and far. That is its meaning. The analogy is: The Svabhavikakaya of ultimate truth, which is naturally luminous and supremely beautiful with the splendor of qualities, should be understood as being like a Buddha (sku, kU, body, body) made of jewels. Because it is naturally accomplished from the beginning and not newly created by effort; and also because it is like a treasure of inexhaustible jewels of qualities such as strength. Because it possesses the wealth of the profound and vast Dharma, the great kingdom of the Mahayana, the Sambhogakaya, which appears in purity, is like a Chakravartin king enjoying the seven precious jewels and the wealth of the four continents. Because of the nature of merely appearing as an image of whatever needs to be tamed in the minds of sentient beings, relying on the power of the manifest ultimate body, the commonly appearing Nirmanakaya is like a golden image. That is its meaning. The way to understand the meaning of the teachings through faith is: The Dharmata ultimate truth of the self-arisen, perfect Buddhas, who are naturally accomplished from the beginning and not newly born from other causes, the Tathagatagarbha, is to be understood in a general way by ordinary beings, Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Bodhisattvas who have newly entered the Mahayana, relying on definitive scriptures and their commentaries, through faith and belief itself. Because there is no eye for the profound Suchness view, it is not a direct realization as it is. For example, the sun's disc is pure and clear, and its rays...

Just as a blazing fire cannot be directly seen by someone who is blind. That is to say, the meaning of emptiness to be realized is: What is the principle of emptiness that is free from the two extremes? The Tathāgatagarbha, which is completely pure by its very nature, the ultimate truth of Suchness, for this Suchness, there is no fault of pervasive afflictions that needs to be removed, because from the very beginning, it is free from all adventitious stains. Similarly, there is nothing to be newly established as purified qualities, because the ultimate qualities such as powers are naturally accomplished from the very beginning, and the nature of reality is indivisible. Thus, by directly contemplating and meditating on the Dharma-dhātu Suchness, which is the object free from the two extremes, with the wisdom of ultimate knowledge as the subject, and by becoming thoroughly familiar with it, and by the gradual arising of the wisdom that directly sees the meaning of the true nature of reality, one attains liberation from the adventitious stains that are to be abandoned. That is, on the path of seeing, one is liberated from the stains to be abandoned by seeing; on the path of meditation, one is liberated from the stains to be abandoned by meditation; and on the ultimate path, one is liberated from all the two obscurations, including their habitual tendencies. Therefore, because the adventitious stains that can be separated, that have the characteristic of being separable, and that can be abandoned, are different from the nature of reality, these are conditioned, conventional phenomena, therefore, it is seen that the essence of the Tathāgatagarbha is empty, thereby being free from the extreme of existence. Because the ultimate nature that cannot be separated, that has the characteristic of being inseparable, and that cannot be abandoned, is not different from the nature of reality, the unsurpassed Dharma of the Buddha, the infinite qualities such as powers, therefore, the Dharma-dhātu is not empty, thereby also being free from the extreme of non-existence. Because they are mutually contradictory, it is also liberated from the extreme of being both existent and non-existent. And for that very reason, it is also liberated from the extreme of being non-dual, which is contradictory to it. Therefore, from the two extremes or the four alternatives,
