At the time of cremation, when the corpse was burned in the fire of wisdom, Dharma sounds emanated from the flames, and the blue-green smoke was like an unfurled silk, with the Dharma Lord truly residing in the center of the rainbow light tent at the top, ascending into the sky. Afterwards, from the lower part of Kumbum (sku 'bum), it gradually circled to the right many times, reaching the top, and everyone saw it going only to the west. Some saw the eleven-faced, thousand-armed, thousand-eyed Avalokiteśvara radiating light above the cremation chamber, surrounded by singing dakinis. Some saw the cremation chamber as the palace of the gods, with four faces and twenty-four arms, adorned with weapons, the Bhagavan embraced by a golden goddess, the deities of the Kalachakra mandala. Some saw lotuses blooming above the cremation chamber, Hevajra with eight faces, standing on the four maras, surrounded by the eight dakinis such as Rima, clearly teaching the scriptures and commentaries of the Two Stages Tantra. Some saw in the center of the flames of the burning corpse, Vajrabhairava with a dark blue buffalo face, surrounded by the wrathful zombies and eight heroes, subduing the city of Yama. Some saw the cremation chamber in the form of a Dharma throne, with the Dharma Lord seated on a lion throne, lotus, and sun cushion, with a majestic posture and a smiling face, clearly teaching the tantric commentaries and scriptures. Some saw the cremation chamber surpassing a thousand-petaled lotus, with the Bhagavan, the lord of the teachings, in the center, surrounded by the Buddhas of the ten directions, well protecting the teachings. Some saw the smoke from the burning corpse transforming into offering deities, manifesting countless forms surrounding him, with Nagarjuna in the center, riding a horse and ringing a bell, surrounded by the Six Ornaments and Two Supreme Ones, each teaching the Dharma in their own form, making mudras, and sitting majestically on the back of an elephant.
