That is because he consciously chose to be reborn. In the catalog of the profound Six Dharmas, it says: At that time, at the end of the kalpa, having the characteristics of neither I nor not-I, the flesh is yellow and the hair is brown, the flesh is yellow and the hair is brown, the stature is short, the right side is white, the left side has a red flesh mole, the teeth are white and the teeth are closely arranged, having a mole's gasha, the year is the later Dragon year, the lineage is Gya, the name is Zhangkhrom, may such a one be found! (Upper volume, p. 584) He was born in accordance with Nubchen's prayer. Although some places of birth consider him to have been born in Yungmda, Sogzlogpa said: It is said that he was born in Lhodrak Ngamang Chushul, which is found in the treasure of Orgyen Lingpa. In Yungmda, there is also a small ruin of a house, said to be the site of the sleeping quarters, so it should be investigated. Although it is said like that, Shazupa Ngawang Tashi Namgyal said: This is Dumbapa Chugyud, which is the name of the valley in the upper part of Tsangrongchen. This is also in accordance with what appeared in a treasure of Tsedak. The place is a part of Rong Rampa, namely Khapa, that is, Dumbapa. The lineage is Gya. The name is Zhangkhrom, and he is also called Gyaton Dorje Obar, so he is known as Dumbapa Gya Zhangkhrom. That was the Dog year. In the catalog of the Six Dharmas, it is said to be the Dragon year, the hair is brown, the stature is short, the teeth are white and closely arranged, having a mole's gasha, etc., it is said that it is in accordance with the above prophecy. Initially, because of poverty, he worked as a shepherd and a goatherd. Once he went begging and met a yogi at Yamo Lhakhang. Gradually, he told his story as above. That yogi said: Now we two are going to accomplish a great thing, get up! Saying that, he led him away. Going outwards, they arrived at Pungpo Riwoche. The two of them made some dry rations with the tsampa they had begged for. Gepe sat below. I said I would go out for a while. Saying that, he handed him a small stone (Upper volume, p. 585), saying: On that rock, the Yungdrung symbol is written in cinnabar, hit it with this. Zhangkhrom hit it five times, and something splashed out. The yogi cleared away the broken stones, and an exit appeared that could not be entered. There, the yogi left alone, and Zhangkhrom

He also went. In the center of a mandala about an arrow's length away, there was a silver vase filled with longevity nectar, which the yogi immediately drank. Zhang Khyom said, "I have received a share." Then he handed him the empty vase, saying, "Your share is elsewhere." With that, he dissolved into light in the stone pillar above his head. He himself put the silver vase in his pocket and looked around to see what else was there. He found some paper rolls under the wall, took them, and came out. After that, he made a living by selling the silver vase, studying writing, and becoming proficient in reading. Later, he looked at the writings on the paper rolls and is said to have discovered the paper rolls of Yama Khathun and the catalogs of wealth and sacred mountain treasures. Also, in the catalog of the Profound Six Dharmas, it is recorded that a wandering monk found these catalogs on the porch of the Sradun Tsei Temple. It clearly stated that they must be given to Gya Zhang Khyom, including the location, year, name, and family. So, that ascetic searched around and met Zhang Khyom at Dumba Chutsen. After the two consulted, they took out the treasures and found twenty-one yellow papers about benefits and harms. Catalogs of other treasures were also found (Volume 1, page 586). Zhang Khyom invited them to Dumba Chutsen. The ascetic Gar Som appeared and it was known that he was an emanation of Sangye Yeshe. Thirteen Kozos were taken to Dokham. Also, once, he went begging with two friends. A former hermit, who had served Lhatsun Gonmo in U-Tsang for twelve years, received a large Yum image and two treasure catalogs when he returned. He chose the catalog and took it. After returning to his homeland, he did not have the courage to search for the treasure. Later, he also took a wife. After he died, Zhang Khyom and his friends came to his wife. She invited them into the house, told the above story, and offered the treasure catalog, which made him very happy. After that, many other treasure catalogs also appeared. In the catalog of the Profound Six Dharmas, it says that a total of eighty treasures were hidden, one is Phungpo Riwoche, and the headdress of Gyayi Monmo, Nyuggi Dorje Drongbu, and the four elderflower stupas on the Tsang side, these four have been pointed out.
