As it is said, if something does not exist, how can one observe whether it is 'own being', 'other being', or 'destruction'? Therefore, own being, other being, non-being, and things with own being are all wrong. Here it is said: If things are empty, there will be no cessation, and no arising. For what is empty in essence, what ceases and what arises? If things are empty by nature, then they will not cease, nor will they arise. If one thinks that what is empty by nature has arising and ceasing, then for what is empty in essence, what ceases and what arises? Here it is said: All dharmas are only empty. Why? Because things and non-things cannot exist simultaneously, without non-things there are no things, things and non-things always change. Without non-things, things do not arise. Things and non-things cannot exist simultaneously. As it is said, things and non-things cannot exist at the same time. If one thinks that only things exist, here it is said: Without non-things there are no things. Because without non-things, things cannot exist. Without impermanence, there are no things. Furthermore, things and non-things always change. Things are always in a state of impermanence. If one thinks that it is like this: things are always related to impermanence, and do not act when arising or existing, but only act when things are destroyed. Here it is said: Without non-things, things do not arise. Without destruction, there can be no characteristic of destruction, which is impermanence. If there is no destruction, there can be no impermanence, so things are always in a state of non-being. Here it is said: Only non-things exist. Here it is said: Without non-things there are no non-things. Not from self, nor from other. Therefore, things do not exist. If things do not exist, then non-things do not exist. Without things, there are no non-things. Things are neither from self nor from other. Therefore, because of this reason, what does not exist is unborn. As it is said. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is. If that is not, then there is no thing. If that thing is not, then the non-existence of a thing also does not exist. Therefore, the non-existence of a thing is also impossible, it is said. Furthermore, if a thing exists, then it is permanent. If it does not exist, then it is necessarily annihilation. If a thing exists, then it is not both of these. Therefore, one should not accept the existence of a thing. Because if a thing exists, then it would lead to permanence. If it does not exist, then it would necessarily lead to annihilation. If a thing exists, then it would lead to both of these, therefore one should not accept the existence of a thing. Here it is said: For the sake of continuity, it does not exist. Because the cause is given, the thing ceases. For the sake of the continuity of arising and ceasing, it does not become either permanent or annihilated. Because the cause is given, the thing ceases. Here it is said: This is not established as before. There is also the fault of the cessation of continuity. We have already examined that a thing and the non-existence of a thing cannot exist simultaneously. Therefore, whatever is accepted as continuity is also not established as before. Furthermore, there is also the fault of the cessation of continuity. Here it is said: By seeing arising and ceasing, one attains liberation from suffering. The path shown is not for the sake of emptiness. By seeing arising and ceasing, one follows the path of liberation from suffering, but not for the sake of emptiness. Here it is said: These are mutually contradictory, and because they are mistaken, they are seen. For the time being, what is said is not knowing what has not arisen, but seeing arising and ceasing, and seeing arising as the opposite of ceasing, and seeing ceasing as the opposite of arising, therefore these two, arising and ceasing, are mutually contradictory. Because knowing is also contradictory, therefore arising and ceasing are seen. Because depending on arising there is ceasing, and depending on ceasing there is arising, therefore this is also emptiness. Here it is said: If there is no arising and ceasing, then what ceasing leads to liberation from suffering? If there is no arising and no ceasing, then what ceasing leads to liberation from suffering? Here it is said: What is it that by its own nature has no arising and no ceasing, is that not liberation? What is it that by its own nature has no arising and no ceasing, is that not liberation? Furthermore, if liberation from suffering is cessation, if it is examined like the other, therefore it is neither a thing nor a non-thing. There is no arising and no ceasing. If liberation from suffering is cessation, it would lead to annihilation.
