So-called Vajra, livestock and eyes, water and thirty-nine gods of the heavens, the wise should understand the meaning of their sounds. Just as Vishnu manifests as a lion, elephant, frog, sun, moon, light and monkey, tawny, dwarf and the powerful one (Indra), the Nagas, the wise should know them as Hari. Rāhu, the abiding one, Vishnu and Hari, forest, elephant, protector, the powerful one and man-lion, dwarf, snake, the son of the desireless one, these are famous names. Likewise, other sounds should also be understood. Like this, sometimes one word can have multiple meanings, and each meaning can also be expressed by multiple words. Similarly, the able one, the powerful one, the city destroyer (Shiva), sacrifice, Kaushika (another name for Indra) and the hundred-eyed one (Indra), these words all refer to the same thing. 'Non-existence', 'non-being' and 'unattainable', these are variations of names, but in reality, they are not truly established. Therefore, because of seeing the fault of mixing various forms of the signifier and the signified, it is uncertain, and therefore it is not established. Furthermore, if it is one, then the signifier and the signified are not established; if it is other, then when saying the signifier 'pot', it will not be definitely understood as a pot. Likewise, for other things, if it is one, then it is the same as the fault mentioned earlier. Therefore, debate is impossible. Furthermore, refutation and inverted refutation are also the same. 'The same' means that in whatever way the debate is refuted, that is the meaning of that way. Therefore, refutation and inverted refutation do not exist. Fallacious Reasons Objection: If you say that everything is a fallacious reason and there is no correct answer, then I say that because there is no homogeneity or heterogeneity, it is not a fallacious reason. If there is a fallacious reason, is it because of homogeneity or heterogeneity? First of all, it does not become a fallacious reason through homogeneity, just as when gold is tested by gold itself, the gold itself is not discarded; that is gold, not something that looks like gold. Similarly, what is a true reason is only a true reason, not something that looks like a reason. Likewise, it does not become a fallacious reason through heterogeneity, just as donkeys and so on are not gold. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Question: If there is 'similarity', then what would appear 'similar' to gold? Answer: Likewise, the non-rational does not appear 'similar' to the rational, because it is not rational itself. The so-called 'similarity' is not the thing itself, but rather the opposite of it. Because of the complete transformation of its own nature, the particularity does not diminish from the imbalance of elements, or, as when the elements are balanced, the mind is knowledge itself. If thoroughly investigated, there is no such thing as 'similar reasoning'. Therefore, the non-rational and a third state other than the rational are not valid. Therefore, 'similar reasoning' does not exist. Furthermore, non-error comes from being free from error. From what does non-error arise? Does it arise from being erroneous in itself, or from being non-erroneous? If it does not become erroneous in itself, then it will not be with error, because it does not abandon its own nature. Because of its own existence, it will not be with error. However, even if it abandons its own nature, it is not with error, because having abandoned its own nature, it no longer exists. Otherwise, there is no reason. This will be shown to mean that the reasoning which is by its very nature proving the object to be proved is not with error, and that which is not by its very nature proving the object to be proved is not with error because it is not reasoning itself, since there is no third kind of conceptualization. Question: There is reasoning with error. For example, space and action are said to be non-corporeal, and atoms and pots, etc., are like universals and particulars. Answer: It is not so, because they are different from those. It is existent. From what? Because they themselves are different. That non-corporeal which exists in space cannot reasonably exist in action and mind, because what is born and unborn are contradictory. Here, the non-corporeal of action and mind, etc., is endowed with birth, but space is not. That non-corporeal of space does not exist in action, because action is endowed with birth. When the non-corporeal is born together with birth, then birth... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
