Even the earth will perish, because destruction is its nature. Therefore, space (ākāśa, sky) and non-sentient beings are different. The non-sentient nature of space is different from intelligence, etc., and the non-sentient nature of karma does not exist in space either. For proof and refutation, if there are some reasons to establish a point, then the establisher is not confused with the establishment itself. Similarly, it should be stated for refutation as well. Therefore, there is no reason with error. It is contradiction itself, not a reason with error. Therefore, the non-sentient nature of space is permanent, which is not an error in proof. It is the same for karma, etc. Furthermore, because it is momentary. If something is to be proved or refuted, and that thing is destructible, then it is not reasonable to prove or refute it. If both exist, then the reason can prove or refute; if the reason perishes, then that reason cannot prove or refute, because both do not exist. Therefore, there is no reason with error. The opponent says: 'All your reasons are said to be contradictory, not with error. Only uncertainty is with error.' What is to be proved is not confused with the proof itself, and similarly, it should be stated for refutation as well. Therefore, because there is no reason with error, it is contradiction itself. To this, it should be answered: Because of arising earlier and later, there is no contradiction. What is said to be contradictory does not exist, because the former is not contradictory since the latter does not exist. There is no contradiction in stating the latter either, because the former reason does not exist. Contradiction exists only when both exist at the same time. There is no occasion for the debater and the refuter to speak of refutations and answers at the same time, because things that do not exist together are not contradictory. The opponent says: 'The past time is a fallacious reason.' If it exists, then a fallacious reason exists. To this, it should be answered: The past is the past. What is called the past is what has passed. Here, the time of your pot is the present, the time of the clay is the past, and the state of the pottery is the future. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is said to be that time. Therefore, for the future pottery, the times of the clay lump and the pot have already passed. At that time, since they do not exist, what will this become the future of? If it is said that the present and the past exist, that is also not so, because the present does not have the past, and similarly, the past does not have the present, so all times will not be obtained. Therefore, all forms of expression will become invalid. In the world, there are many forms of expression, such as refined, unrefined, and ordinary. That which has occurred is called the past. That which exists is called the present. That which will occur is called the future. Similarly, this should also be applied to unrefined and ordinary expressions, but it is not stated due to the abundance of texts. Furthermore, the past argument or the past time does not exist, because why? Because it is impossible. The auditory sense hears the argument itself, not the past, because it is the past. The past time is also not reasonable, because the argument is past. The present time is not related to the past argument, with what is it related? It itself is the time of the argument. Therefore, if analyzed with such reasons, the past time does not exist, and the argument also does not exist. Abandoning words and refutation: Question: If everything you say is literal meaning and not ultimate meaning, how should it be explained? Answer: It is not so, because all answers will become invalid. This is not the case, because whatever is said as an answer will become literal meaning. Why? Because all speakers will inevitably abandon words due to reason. Therefore, the answer is reasonable. If there is no abandoning of words, or if this method is not liked, then there will be no abandoning of words. Question: If refutation occurs with a hundred or a thousand answers, does the so-called refutation exist in a definite sense? Answer: Refutation does not exist, because there is neither born nor unborn. What is the so-called refutation? Is it born, unborn, or being born? That which has already arisen is not unborn, because it is already born. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
