The statement 'exception for the sharp-witted' is not intended as a specific exception but is meant to be exhaustive. Some argue that the intermediate scriptures are superior to the later ones, and that mantras surpass the intermediate ones because the former represent the Mind-Only (Cittamatra) view, while the latter represent the Middle Way (Madhyamaka) view. This is incorrect. The Great Vehicle (Mahayana) is far superior to the so-called 'sharp-witted,' and even those of lesser capacity can have higher views. Views are distinguished by wisdom. The intermediate scriptures represent the Middle Way in a state of non-manifestation, while the later scriptures and secret mantras represent the ultimate Middle Way with manifestation. If one thinks that the Middle Way implicitly acknowledges the existence of mind, even if it doesn't explicitly state it, whereas the later scriptures, secret mantras, and the teachings of Maitreya do not, thus their views become Mind-Only, this is also incorrect. Because the scripture states, 'Consciousness is supreme,' the distinguishing feature of Mind-Only is consciousness itself. If mind is divided, there are the mind of consciousness and the mind of wisdom. The former is the imagined and the dependent, so in these treatises, they are shown to be non-existent in ultimate reality. In the Ornament of the Sutras (MDo sDe rGyan), it says: 'Not existent, not non-existent, not thus, not other.' The commentary says: 'The characteristics of the imagined and the dependent are not existent.' 'From the intellect, one knows that there is nothing other than mind; then, one realizes that even mind itself is non-existent.' and so on. If wisdom is also considered non-existent in ultimate reality, it would be a great extreme, as it would be viewing the very nature of reality (Dharmadhatu) as non-existent. The Dharmadhatu is mind and wisdom. In the Praise of Dharmadhatu, it says: 'The mind that is clear light, is obscured by the five obscurations: desire, malice, laziness, agitation, and doubt.' 'Even within afflictions, wisdom remains, likewise, without defilement.' Also, in the Kalachakra, it says: 'The mind of samsara and nirvana is definite.' This means that all sentient beings have two minds: the mind of samsara as a phenomenon and the mind of nirvana as its essence. The Mind-Only school considers all phenomena, including the Buddha, to be consciousness, not wisdom. In the Summary of Manjushri's Own View, it says: 'As the practice of yoga is taught, it is shown to those who speak of the absence of wisdom. The Middle Way system of the fully enlightened Buddha is taught to the sons, not in that way.' In the Condensed Four Bodies of the Kalachakra World Element, it says: 'Here, among those who speak of consciousness, there is none who has become a fully enlightened Buddha with the wisdom body as the body that makes the day (sun).’ Why? Because they abide in the dharma of consciousness. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because the perfectly complete Buddha transcends the nature of consciousness. As the Tathagata praised the discriminating wisdom of the name, 'Transcending the nature of consciousness, holding the manner of non-duality.' Therefore, the body of wisdom, the body of the sun, is the perfectly complete Buddha, as the Bhagavan repeatedly stated.' This shows that the Alaya-vijñana is said to be the opposite of the body of wisdom, the self-luminous nature of the sun, so the identification of the Tathagatagarbha, the self-luminous nature of the mind, as looking inward at the Alaya-vijñana is prohibited. Not knowing that the mind has two truths is like this: 'Those who do not distinguish the difference between these two truths will not understand the profound Dharma of the Buddha.' Merely because the word 'mind' appears, considering it as Mind-Only, and considering all subsequent teachings, tantras, and the followers of the Maitreya's teachings as Mind-Only, is disrupting the Dharma, slandering individuals and the Dharma, and because of not understanding the selflessness of Madhyamaka, considering the highest view and ultimate conclusion of other vehicles as inferior, is like boasting of riding an elephant while riding a bumblebee, and despising others riding horses. Yogis are also harmed by higher levels due to differences in intelligence, which is a great proof. The great Madhyamaka is not fully shown in the Sutras, but is shown in the Mantras. In the Kalachakra it says: 'The dust of the three realms is not consciousness, the nature of consciousness is non-existent, which is Buddha's wisdom, the Buddha does not dwell anywhere, the wise should speak such words.' Those who are immutable and free from drama grasp emptiness, and view emptiness as empty, therefore, the bliss of the immutable innate body spoken by the Lord of Freedom is shown in the Mantra vehicle. Therefore, the ultimate conclusion of the great Madhyamaka is the union of bliss and emptiness, and these two are also emptiness with cause and condition (three realms), and causeless compassion (immutable bliss). These are not clearly shown in the Sutras. The four classes of Tantras, the latter is superior to the former. In the Vajra Tent Tantra it says: 'The Action Tantra is suitable for the inferior, the Yoga Tantra is more superior, the Yoga Tantra is suitable for superior beings, the Anuttara Yoga Tantra is even more superior.' In Anuttara Yoga, there are Father Tantras such as Guhyasamaja, and Mother Tantras such as Chakrasamvara, and both. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
