By acting wickedly, one incurs enemies; by speaking falsely, one is slandered; by sowing discord, one separates friends; by harsh words, one hears unpleasant things; by irrelevant talk, words are not dignified; greed destroys hope in the mind; harmful intent is said to bestow fear; wrong views are themselves bad views; drinking alcohol confuses the mind; taking what is not given leads to poverty; wrong livelihood leads to deception; arrogance leads to bad lineage; jealousy leads to diminished glory; anger leads to an ugly complexion; not asking the wise is foolishness. As it is said, experiencing these is concordant with the cause. Actions concordant with the cause, at that time, due to the power of past habits, from delighting in killing to greatly delighting in holding wrong views, all will occur. The result of power is that wherever the container world is coarse, crops do not ripen, it is full of mud and filth, and bad places and so on, all sorts of bad things grow. Thus, being deprived of the cause of virtue and the result of happiness, that is the separated result of non-virtuous actions, and the meaning of those things appearing in visible phenomena is called the result of the agent, as Spilbupa said. Believing all of that, just as Sharawa said, once a certain conviction arises, if one does not constantly practice, as previously shown, with the four non-reasoning ways, even the smallest sins are not spared, so one has faith in cause and effect. Until one reaches that point, one must practice without distraction. As soon as one is slightly distracted, one becomes lax. Practicing in this way, abandoning sins, is also as Sharawa said. In the Letter to a Friend, it says: 'Constancy, attachment to appearances, and lack of antidotes, virtues being primary, actions arising from the basis, good and non-good, all five are great, therefore strive to engage in virtue.' As it is said, first one must abandon the great evils. Abandoning the great evils does not mean that one can ignore the small evils. Eventually, all the subtle evils must also be abandoned. If one always ignores the subtle evils, then those subtle evils will become great evils because they are always done. It seems that we now have gathered all the great evils. Even if all other evils are not complete, if one always ignores even one small transgression, it is said to become a great evil.

It seems that we are already born in hell just by killing a single hand fish. All the studies of discipline and extensive prayers have also overthrown all the practices of the previous elders, and are only greedily focused on our hand fish. Every day, we ourselves will also generate twenty or thirty kinds of sins of hand fish. It does not depend on a special field, or is not done frequently. Even if it is done only once, if it is aroused by strong afflictions of attachment and aversion, it is called "great" because of strong attachment. Now is also the time when all afflictions arise only in a strong form. Even if the other three are not complete, all actions without an antidote are said to be great. It is also difficult to suppress sins with the four powers of the antidote. Even if all other conditions are not complete, all those who rely on the field of merit, such as the Three Jewels or special people such as Bodhisattvas, and the main field, such as parents, and both, such as Khenpos and Acharyas, are all said to be great. It seems that we only have objects for accumulating sins. In the field of merit, both good and evil become "great", just as it is said in the sutras on generating the power of faith, etc., the difference in transformation from a layperson to a Bodhisattva who transforms beings by the miraculous powers of the Tathagata is all like those sutras say. Applying non-virtue to virtue is the same, even if one always prostrates to the gods every day, it becomes "great" because it is done frequently. All the good that is aroused by strong faith also becomes "great". All the good that is not overwhelmed by the antidote of sin also becomes "great". All the good that relies on the aforementioned fields also becomes "great". Similarly, contemplating karma and its results must also rely solely on the words of the Tathagata. Because all the greatness of karma and its results is a realm that only the omniscient one can know, and others cannot know, just like the story of the householder Palgye. That is, the reason why that householder, if he became a renunciate, would obtain the fruit in that life is that the householder, countless eons ago, was once born as a pig, and at that time it ate things from the ditch and then rubbed the yellow dust off the stupa with its nose, this virtuous deed only the Bhagavan knew, and all the other great Shravakas
