That is to say, someone born as a human being, having obtained leisure and endowments, and being a suitable vessel for practicing the Dharma, who, believing in the greatness of karma and its results, abandons evil and abides in the path of the ten virtuous actions, and by whatever means, the result to be obtained is only the happiness of samsara, and who seeks to benefit themselves with the thought of wanting to enjoy such happiness, this is to be known as the person of small capacity or the lowest of the three types of persons. Among these, 'only the happiness of samsara' excludes the person of intermediate capacity who seeks a good rebirth as a basis for achieving liberation. 'Seeking to benefit themselves' excludes the Bodhisattva who seeks a good rebirth for the sake of others. Regarding how to learn the characteristics of a person of small capacity or the lowest type, the great Sharawa said: The one who is named as a person of small capacity is said to be someone who believes in cause and effect. If there is a genuine fear of the suffering of the three lower realms, then even the smallest sins will be abandoned for the sake of life. And for that, a genuine recollection of impermanence and death must precede it. Because after death, one is not annihilated, but must be reborn. As soon as one is born, one follows only karma, and fearing the suffering of the three lower realms, one abandons non-virtue. As one of the elders of Gongmowa said, a qualified lama, for a suitable disciple, does not demand too much at the beginning, but like a nurse and an unwise mother caring for a sick person and a young child, gradually teaches and guides them. First, the recollection of impermanence and death is introduced into the mind. To this, the Geshe himself said: In general, the end of all that is born is death, the end of all that is assembled is separation, the end of all that is accumulated is exhaustion, and the end of all that is flourishing is decline; it is the nature of things. Especially, the born" } ] ============================================================

The end of everything is definitely death. Even the noble Arhats who have not experienced death are like that. For those who are born, there is no such thing as not dying, it has not happened in the past, it will not happen in the future, and it does not exist now. Therefore, for all who are born, death is in front of them. Because everything is changing, one should not grieve. Thus it is said. The Buddhas and their sons, as well as the Pratyekabuddhas and Shravakas, all abandon this aggregate body, what need is there to mention others? Thus it is said. Buddhalata, the Buddha does not truly pass into Nirvana, and the Dharma will not perish, but in order to ripen sentient beings, he shows Nirvana. Thus it is said, just as in the presence of the fundamental supreme city (Rtsa mchog pa) he shows the meaning of passing into Nirvana. Even the great masters of the ten bhumis, although they do not have old age, sickness, and death, show death and transference. Thus it is said, in order to accumulate one's own great Bodhi accumulation and to fully ripen sentient beings, taking, abiding, and giving, manifesting and completely transforming, meditation and wisdom, I prostrate to you who have mastery. Thus it is said and acted upon. Arhats like mountains also pass into Nirvana, the Nirvana of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas is the true meaning. All the authors of treatises, such as the master Nagarjuna, have also passed away. The world protectors equal to Indra and all the Chakravartin kings also die. Thousands upon thousands of Indras, and hundreds upon hundreds of Chakravartin kings, will be consumed by time and die, like a burning butter lamp extinguished by the wind. Thus it is said. From Avici hell upwards, to the peak of existence downwards, there is no one who can exist without dying. On earth or in the heavens, having been born and not dying, have you seen, heard, or doubted any? Thus it is said. Therefore, even fleeing quickly is of no use. The five great sages have clairvoyance, and can travel far in the sky, but they also cannot reach the realm where there is no death. Thus it is said. When Prince Arya-born and Minister Mala-sdang offered khatas to the Shakyas, the Bhagavan said: Wherever one goes, there is no place that can escape death, in between...
