These signs come from the union of Śamatha (calm abiding) and Vipaśyanā (insight). They do not come from just a little bit of calm abiding. Whatever happiness arises in body and mind is said to be Śamatha. When the channels and winds gather, the mind also gathers, and is not overcome by afflictions. Sometimes one also gains mastery over one-pointedness. Even if the Buddha were to appear, one would have the faith arising from within, thinking, 'Is there anything more superior than this?' The body's happiness arises from the balance of the elements. By abiding in one-pointedness, it is as if one gains mastery over the mind. One can let go if one wants to, and one can have the power not to let go if one doesn't want to. Sometimes it seems as if one understands all the Dharmas from the depths. And sometimes one thinks, 'Is there anything more superior than this?' Dharma protectors and Ḍākinīs also help, and everyone else also thinks it is okay to meditate. Great devotion and respect arise for the Lama. Great devotion and respect arise for the Mahāyāna Dharma. Thus, it was said. That which is the co-emergent nature itself is not the absence of things and entities, but constantly makes the sound of 'arrow-joining-arrow'. Among the three kinds of cries, the pleasant cry is the wisdom of co-emergence. That which is the innate nature present in the continuum of all beings is present in oneself. One does not need to seek it from others. It is knowing. The cry of bliss is the bliss of abandoning all suffering, which is the Dharmakāya. It is none other than one's own mind, one's own awareness. There is no need to seek it separately. It is knowing. The cry of fame is that all the Dharmas of appearance and sound are one's own mind. They do not come from elsewhere. You do not need to be afraid of it. It is knowing. There are two kinds of people: those who want to meditate on knowing and those who do not want to meditate. For those who want to meditate, the arising and dissolving of experiences is initially small. When one-pointedness arises in the continuum, a clear and joyful experience arises, and one can draw joy from within, but because there is no realization, doubt arises. The experience also becomes sometimes confused and dull. Sometimes awareness becomes dry, and one wonders if one is meditating at all. Sometimes, conceptual thoughts and non-virtuous obscurations cause harm. Although many good and bad experiences like that arise, one should grasp the root of ordinary awareness, recognize the nature of the mind, and become accustomed to not altering it. Thus, freedom from elaboration arises, and one realizes that the awareness of settling into one's own way, all arising and ceasing, is devoid of all. The good and bad experiences mentioned above will still occur somewhat, but because one is accustomed to realizing Bodhicitta continuously at all times, one thoroughly understands the extremely profound and subtle meaning, and because one has certainty in one's mind, one does not fear doubt and uncertain awareness. In a good experience of awareness, no matter what arises, one should not regard it as good or bad, but rather maintain the original state of one's awareness. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If one guards (the nature of mind) without distraction, without oneself being aware, a state of non-attachment to any samadhi and without clinging will arise. The experience of 'one taste' is also the same, which is realizing the non-duality of external objects. If one's own mind and Dharmakaya are simultaneously realized, then for the person of sudden enlightenment who does not need to practice, the guru's introduction and the state of non-elaboration will arise. For the gradualist, it arises from habituation.' Mantrayana practitioners can attain enlightenment in one lifetime and one body, and this is also achieved through the power of blessings. When a realized guru and a fortunate disciple meet and give instructions, it is like Tilopa giving instructions to Naropa. 'One's own awareness is not in Tilopa's instructions.' Furthermore, it is important to recognize awareness and experience it. For recognizing awareness, awareness is intangible, free from elaboration, and unchanging. For experience, it refers to the uncontaminated, co-emergent bliss and luminosity. For realization, it means even ignorance is believed to be awareness, and one realizes it without doubt. If you want to completely cut off the distinction between samsara and nirvana, Jetsun Milarepa said: 'Cut off the distinction between awareness and non-awareness.' In general, why is there non-awareness? The sutra says: 'Because of not knowing awareness, it is called non-awareness.' The root of samsara is the five poisons, but for such a person, the five poisons will appear as the five wisdoms, because this cannot be stopped by anyone, so such a person is an accomplished one. Even if a glimpse of original awareness arises, if one clings to external objects, etc., the original awareness will not help; it will only go downwards and not upwards. Do not cling to this life; be sure that the phenomena of appearance and sound are like illusions and dreams. Cultivate loving-kindness, compassion, and bodhicitta. If one is sure of this, it is easy even without original awareness. It will only go upwards and not downwards.' If a genuine original awareness arises in the mindstream, then it has three aspects: essence, cause, and result. Essence refers to the meaning that is not non-existent, free from all arising and ceasing. The result is the Dharmakaya. Through the blessings of the Dharmakaya and the accumulation of the two accumulations, the two form bodies will arise. 'From the experience of bliss, clarity, and non-thought, the result of the three bodies will arise.' These three arise from tummo, so the cause of the lineage of original awareness is tummo. Even if original awareness arises, one should perfect the two accumulations as if they were illusions and dreams. Without tummo, there is only wisdom. With tummo... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
