This is the method of guiding through the door of excellence. Second, there are three preliminaries of the three doors, the first is the preliminary of the body. In the 'Transcending Consciousness' it says, 'Make the vajra full lotus posture, discipline the body to benefit the mind.' Therefore, if the key points of the body are touched, the clarity and turbidity of the mind will be distinguished. First, on a soft cushion, place the soles of the feet together and straighten the body. Plant the ten toes of the feet on the ground. Stretch the two knees outwards. Join the palms together without touching the crown of the head. Stretch the elbows outwards. Press the Adam's apple with the throat. Squeeze the four places with force. Day and night, strive to make the upper and lower ends like the three walls of a vajra, this is the vajra posture of the body. The visualization is to meditate on a blue, three-pointed vajra burning with flames. In this way, the various parts of the body will feel pain, unable to stand, heat will be generated, and the mind will become non-conceptual. At that time, the body naturally relaxes, and the mind maintains its own nature of non-conceptuality. Therefore, it is very important to distinguish the essence from the dross by performing the actions of the body. In the 'Great Arrangement' it says, 'Whoever wants to distinguish the essence from the dross, the actions of the body will naturally return. As mentioned above, the external is like that. Even in times of reversal, there is no existence in the three realms, the body does not enter.' Furthermore, the three upper points of the above-mentioned vajra posture represent essence, nature, and great compassion, the three lower points represent the three bodies, and the waist being united represents the essence of the two practices of Trekchö and Tögal being the same path. Doing the preliminary of the body in this way has three necessities: common, special, and ultimate. First, it is necessary to eliminate all the sins of the body, to see the body as a burning vajra flame, to pacify the demons and obstacles of the body, and to relinquish attachment to the body. Second, having relinquished attachment in this way, it is necessary to not enter samsara again and for the body to be liberated into the nirmanakaya. Third, it is necessary for the body itself to be inseparable from the vajra body of all Buddhas and to pass into nirvana in the primordial state. Keeping these necessary purposes in mind, one must exert strong effort.

Therefore, one should strive again and again day and night. The tenth general meaning, the order of elaborating on the precedence of speech: Oh, now again, all of you gathered here should establish all sentient beings in the state of complete Buddhahood. For that purpose, listen with a precious mind of enlightenment, thinking that you will listen to the sacred Dharma properly and practice it. Moreover, from the scriptures: All thoughts are well gathered, Listen with a very good mind, Vajrasattva and others in the retentive mind, The Sugatas do not bless. As it is said, listen with joy and acceptance of listening to the Dharma. As stated in the Sutra of the Wise and the Foolish, in the past, a king named Bilinga Linga, in order to hear a four-word verse, had a history of having a thousand iron nails hammered into his body; and King Kana Shina Sali, in order to hear a four-word verse, had a history of lighting a thousand butter lamps on his body, and so on, he was able to practice immeasurable hardships. Now, we can hear the profound and vast Mahayana Dharma without any hardship, so think how happy we are! Even if the Dharma is preached day and night without interruption, listen with joy and pleasure. Precious Dharma is also rare and often has many harms. As it is said, it is very difficult for us to have the opportunity to listen to and hear the Dharma in the remote border areas of the final age. Even if we do not understand the Dharma very well, there are many benefits just from hearing the sound of the Dharma. In the past, when the sound of the Dharma preached by the monk Upagupta was heard by a dog, the dog's obscurations were reduced. After the dog died, it was born as a god who controlled the transformations of others. Also, near the house of a certain monk, there was a sparrow sleeping. When that monk recited the Noble Collection at dawn, the sparrow heard it, and when the recitation was halfway through, the day dawned. When about three-quarters of the recitation was completed, the sparrow flew away. Just hearing the sound of the Dharma of the Noble Collection reduced the obscurations of the sparrow, and as soon as the bird died, it obtained a human body, and having developed faith in the Three Jewels, it renounced the world. The former noble
