If that were the case, the Dharma would not benefit those to be tamed; just as medicine and illness are confused, it would instead turn into poison. Furthermore, as stated in the Bodhicaryāvatāra: "A vessel for vast Dharma, should not be joined with inferior Dharma." And in the Gaṇḍavyūha Sūtra: "The practice of yoga, emptiness, if applied in an inappropriate place, is like nectar turning into poison." Therefore, the Dharma of both the Greater and Lesser Vehicles should also be taught in conjunction with the order of those to be tamed. Among them, the Dharma that is taught, as stated in the scriptures, is: "Initially good, in the middle good, finally good, with good meaning, good words, unmixed, completely perfect, completely pure, completely tamed." Initially, in the middle, and finally good, is because the aggregates of discipline, samādhi, and wisdom are completely without deficiency, therefore it is good. Good meaning refers to the non-inverted object of expression. Good words refer to the expression that enables understanding. Unmixed refers to not being shared with others. Completely perfect refers to the antidote to all afflictions. Completely pure refers to being liberated from the afflictions of one's own ground, therefore it is self-nature pure. Completely tamed refers to abandoning the latent tendencies of afflictions from other grounds, therefore it is the liberation of the continuum. Regarding this, the Abhidharmakośa states: "The Buddha's sacred Dharma is of two kinds: scripture and realization." Therefore, the scriptures are called the Dharma of scripture. The path and nirvāṇa, as well as the three bases of supreme merit, are called the Dharma of realization, which is the essence of self-nature being completely pure, liberated from sudden stains, possessing two purities, and is to be realized. The object-possessing, non-appearing wisdom is the one who realizes. In short, encompassed by what is to be realized and who realizes, in the mind of the conventional, it is called the Dharma of realization. It is also called the supreme sacred Dharma of those who are free from desire. Such sacred Dharma, although there are differences in tenets and limitless entrances to the path, the essence of everything, the ultimate meaning, is the Great Vehicle Secret Mantra Vajrayana, as stated in the Three Lamps: "Though the meaning is one, there is no bewilderment, methods are many, there is no difficulty, relying on the power of sharp faculties, the Mantra Vehicle is especially superior." As it is said, the method of achieving enlightenment in one lifetime is extremely superior.
