Tummo! Hold the great turquoise phurba. To the gods and demons of jealousy, deceit, and confusion, Obtain the phurba of great equanimity. Phat! The great skeleton with gnashing teeth, Hold the supreme bone phurba. To the gods and demons of ignorance and delusion, Obtain the phurba of great enlightenment. Phat! Of the Rudra of ignorance and dualistic appearance, In all the heads and limbs, Plant the phurba of the five wisdoms. Become without throbbing, moving, or shaking. Phat, Phat, Phat! After reciting this, sit on the bed, leaning against the backrest, and visualize as follows: Imagine your own body becoming large, solid, and majestic, like a region, with all the gods and demons pressed underneath, making unpleasant squeaking noises. Again, imagine all the gods and demons of command appearance and existence being bent over like pieces of paper blown by the wind, and then dissolving into those gods and demons pressed under the bed. Again, think in your mind and say these words: "Alas, until the end of the kalpa and the destruction of existence, I will not move from this place. I will not move from this place. I will not stir from this place. I will stay here. I will lie down. Phat!" After saying this three times, Imagine that in the sky above, all the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Lamas, Yidams, and Dakinis are radiantly and densely present, and then settle into a state of non-distraction and non-attachment. Again, in the meantime, clarify the visualization and vows, and remain. At that time, whether it is the best of actual appearances, the middling of experiential appearances, or the worst, even in dreams, a certain degree of arousal will definitely occur. Moreover, there are two types of arousal: obstructed and unobstructed. Obstructed is when arousal is caused by the appearance of wild animals, barbarians, humans, or livestock. Unobstructed is for formless gods, demons, the eight classes, and non-humans. Furthermore, there may be earthquakes, collapsing houses, landslides, cascading waterfalls, overflowing water and oceans, heavy hail, loud thunder, lightning strikes, flashes of light, soldiers, crowds, and various animals making loud noises and running, and so on. Furthermore, in dreams, there may be fighting and arguing with many people, being suppressed, being attacked, preparing to be eaten, running away and being chased, and so on. Also, insects sticking to the body, entering the mouth, being bitten, and so on. In short, various uncertain signs of self-arousal may occur. In the classification of the degree of arousal: Arousing the body

In terms of the body, the hair stands on end, the muscles twitch like boiling, subtle or intense pains arise, swellings and large wounds suddenly appear, the body trembles and twitches, and so on. In terms of speech, unpleasant sounds are emitted, speech is intermittent, breathing becomes long and short, and breathing is obstructed. In terms of mind, the mind is alarmed, consciousness is lost, one becomes dazed and confused, the focus of meditation is lost, one cannot sit still, one wants to run away, and various hopes and doubts arise involuntarily, one feels fear, and so on. In short, all joys and sorrows, hopes and doubts, struggles and conflicts that are not in accordance with the nature of the mind are provocations. When these appear simultaneously in the three doors of body, speech, and mind, it is a great provocation; when two appear, it is a medium provocation; if only one appears, it is a small provocation, and this should be understood. Furthermore, there are four maras that show provocation: the mara of obstruction, the mara of non-obstruction, the mara of joy, and the mara of pride. The mara of obstruction refers to objects that actually exist, such as forms, sounds, smells, tastes, and tactile sensations. As soon as the eyes see these objects, thoughts of hope, doubt, joy, and sorrow arise immediately, and this is provocation. Subsequently, the body and speech engage in various actions, and that is being controlled. If the provocation is recognized as soon as it arises and disappears immediately, that is cutting it off. The mara of non-obstruction refers to fear that arises not from external objects, but from oneself; illusions arise, and one feels afraid of seeing or sensing uncertain things, and these refer to unreal things. Initially feeling afraid and generating fear is provocation. Subsequently, hope and doubt arise and become attached, and that is being controlled. Therefore, no matter whether a large, medium, or small provocation arises, one should immediately remember, determine that these illusions are not real, and return to the state of meditation as it is, and that is cutting it off. The mara of joy also has two types: obstruction and non-obstruction. The first refers to being respected and praised by others, gathering around, becoming a benefactor, offering large amounts of food and wealth, being revered as a place of offering, and so on, and various beautiful and attractive images appear. To this, thoughts of joy, satisfaction, and so on arise excessively, and this is provocation. If these are taken as accomplishments, signs, or good omens, and one repeatedly clings to joy, happiness, and satisfaction, that is being controlled. As soon as joy arises, it is like a dream
