Was it produced from the realm of earth? Was it produced from the realm of water? Was it produced from the realm of fire? Was it produced from the realm of wind? If it was produced, then with the manifest eye...etc., it does not exist. Did the benefit-bestowing virtue of body, speech, and mind arise from something that exists, or did it arise from something that does not exist? If it arose from something that exists, then there must be something that can be said to have arisen from here, with the manifest eye...etc. It is not. If it arose from something that does not exist, then from something that does not exist, the virtue of body, speech, and mind must be something with form. If that exists, then the shape, color, etc. of this virtue of body, speech, and mind, with the manifest eye...etc. It is not. If this benefit-bestowing virtue of body, speech, and mind exists in a place in between, then from the tip of the hair on the head down to the tip of the toenail, there must be a place that can be said to be this place. If it exists, then with the manifest eye...etc. It is not. If this benefit-bestowing virtue of body, speech, and mind has a final place to go, then in which direction among the four directions of east, south, west, and north, the eight intermediate directions, and the three of above, below, and between, is there a place to go, a destination? If it exists, then with the manifest eye...etc. It is not. Therefore, having established it through the three of origin, place, and destination, it does not exist. If you think that bestowing benefit is virtue, then from which aspect of the outer, inner, and intermediate of the emptiness of mind itself, from which beginning or end, is this that bestows benefit and is made white, with the manifest eye...etc. It is not. Therefore, it is only something imputed by one's own mind. Other than that, virtue itself does not exist as something truly established. Once it is determined that it is nowhere to be found, then temporarily, it is only accumulating merit in samsara, and nothing more. Similarly, sin...etc., has not passed beyond. Similarly, the accumulation of sins that harm body, speech, and mind This accumulation must be piled up like a pile of grain, and accumulated like a king's treasury. If it exists, then with the manifest eye...etc. It is not. The three of origin, place, and destination are established as above. If you think that inflicting harm is sin, then again, from which aspect of the outer, inner, beginning, end, and intermediate of the emptiness of mind itself, is this that inflicts harm and is made black, with the manifest eye...etc. It is not. Therefore, it is only something imputed by one's own mind. Other than that, sin itself does not exist as something truly established, not even a particle. In one lifetime, body, speech, and mind three practice virtue

If we carefully examine the consciousness of a person who strives in practice and a person who spends their life engaging in evil deeds with body, speech, and mind, if there is not even a particle of difference in their attachment to relatives, hatred towards enemies, hope for good, and suspicion of evil, then liberation is merely liberation of consciousness, and delusion is delusion of consciousness, thus wandering in samsara. If these two streams of consciousness are no different, then everything will not transcend samsara, but only temporary happiness and suffering. If there is no difference in karma, then it is merely an increase in samsara. Thus, one should ascertain virtue and so on. Even if virtue is not ascertained, there are those who practice virtue. Even if evil is not ascertained, it is commonly practiced by all. If one thinks that there is no need to ascertain virtue and evil, it is not ascertained for the sake of not practicing virtue, but for the sake of practicing evil. Like this, if virtue is not ascertained, the path to liberation and the virtue of accumulating merit in samsara temporarily will be confused, and one will not attain the fruit of omniscience. If evil is not ascertained, one will not know that not recognizing oneself is the obscuration and the root of evil, and therefore there is no choice but to be deluded in endless samsara. Therefore, ascertaining virtue and evil is the most important point. Therefore, if one thinks that no matter what one accumulates, whether virtue or evil, no result will arise, that is not the case. Because the white thought that thinks "this is virtue" is the basis, the subtle part of the Sugata-garbha. No matter what virtue one accumulates with body, speech, and mind, even if one can only attain the status of gods and humans in the happy realms, one will not even come close to the path of omniscience, and one will be bound by that fault. Whatever non-virtuous deeds are accumulated through the four doors of basis, thought, action, and ultimate, due to the completeness of the limbs of evil, under the influence of the strong or weak motivation of any of the three poisons of greed, hatred, and delusion, will cause one to be thrown into the three lower realms, but whichever of the two it is, one will not transcend samsara, so it is merely accumulating merit in samsara. If one goes to an uninhabited wilderness seeking the next life, when meditating on emptiness, because there is no experience or attachment, his mind...
