Thus, it arises in the continuum. This is called the secret refuge. As Lord Milarepa said, "The three channels, winds, and bindus, these three are the secret refuge." And so on. This is the refuge of the secret, supreme Vajra Essence, so it is said that way. Omniscient Jigme Lingpa said, "Especially, the refuge of the supreme vehicle Vajra Essence, is to rely on the channels manifesting as the Nirmanakaya, to train the winds as the Sambhogakaya, and to purify the bindus as the Dharmakaya, which is the quick path." As it is said. That is, the channels that abide in one's own Vajra body, the moving winds, and the arrangement of the three Bodhicitta abide, when the functions of these are impure, they are the three doors, and when they are pure, they accomplish the three bodies. It is. To this, there are the three gross channels, winds, and bindus, and the nature or essence of these, the original clear light channels, winds, and bindus. From the purification of the original channels, the Nirmanakaya manifests, from the purification of the winds, the Sambhogakaya is accomplished, and from the purification of the bindus, it matures into the wisdom of great bliss, therefore it is the quick path of the means to accomplish the Dharmakaya, relying on the continuum. Essence, The way to take refuge in the three, nature, and compassion, is: the refuge of the very secret Great Perfection. To this, the way to take refuge is as explained above. Omniscient Jigme Lingpa said, "The ultimate, unfailing, is the refuge of the Vajra of the abiding reality. The wisdom abiding in the mindstream of those refuge objects, the essence is emptiness, the nature is clarity, and the compassion is all-pervasive, the great indivisibility of the three, is cultivated and practiced in one's own continuum." As it is said. Practice means to determine or not to go beyond its state. If one learns these inner secret ways, it is the way to truly take refuge in the Dharma of the Vajrayana. To this, relying on the Buddha as the teacher, and the Sangha of Vidyadharas, heroes and heroines, as companions, thereby the general essence of taking refuge is complete. Then, for the actual practice, it is necessary to visualize the field of merit, to this, there are many differences in the Chöd texts, do according to what each one prefers, in general, in the space in front, visualize the Dharmakaya Great Mother, and the Buddhas of the ten directions.

Surrounded by a multitude of Bodhisattvas, filling the sky above like gathering clouds, it is sufficient to have faith in this. It is good if the objects of refuge appear clearly as they are, and since this is related to the principles of secret mantra, it is especially important. However, if they do not appear clearly, it is not a problem. The Ratnakuta Sutra says: "Whoever remembers the Victorious Ones, they abide before them, constantly blessing and protecting them, liberating them from all sins." As it is said, without doubt, if you think that the Victorious Ones together with their sons are abiding in the sky in front of you, then they are definitely abiding there. The Buddhas have all the knowable dharmas like a moist amla fruit placed in the palm of their hand,

Furthermore, it is said in the Tantra: "Regarding the beings to be tamed, their dispositions and the methods of taming, as well as the activities of taming the dispositions of the beings to be tamed, and going to their places and times, the all-pervading lords are always spontaneously accomplished." As it is said, they directly see the dispositions and various inclinations of the beings to be tamed, and they know all the forms of the methods of taming them, and they are able to place the activities of taming that are in accordance with the dispositions of the beings to be tamed in both manifest higher realms and definite goodness, and they go to the places where the beings to be tamed reside, and they also go without exceeding the time. The all-pervading perfect Buddhas are always spontaneously accomplished by pacifying diligence. Moreover, in the "King of Prayers, the Noble Excellent Conduct," it is said: "On a single atom are Buddhas as numerous as atoms, seated amidst the sons of the Buddhas." As it is said, however many perfect Buddhas there are, because they are of the nature of wisdom free from obstruction, wherever the mind pervades, the body and speech also pervade. Therefore, even on a single atom, there is the appearance of the Victorious Ones together with their bodhisattva retinues as numerous as atoms. One should also generate certainty about this. Moreover, the Buddhas initially generate the mind of enlightenment for the sake of all sentient beings, and in the intermediate period, they accumulate merit for three countless eons also for the sake of sentient beings, and finally, they manifest the accomplishment of their spontaneously accomplished activities for the sake of sentient beings. Because there is no other activity other than the benefit of sentient beings, all the Buddhas together with their bodhisattva retinues are present before us. In short, among the Buddhas, we there is not a single one that is not seen with wisdom, not a single one that is not considered with compassion, and not a single one that cannot be protected with power. Since they have such power, it is impossible for them to abandon us. It is because we ourselves are hesitant and lack faith that we cannot receive it, but the Buddhas are certainly able to protect us. We must generate firm faith in this from the depths of our hearts. Then, visualize that all sentient beings, led by parents, harm-doers, gods, demons, etc., surround you, and take refuge with single-minded faith and reverence. This is also the refuge of the Chö tradition.
