There will never be a cause for decline. When you obtain a human body and encounter the Dharma of Secret Mantra and the Guru, if it is not the time to practice Dzogchen, then based on that dependent arising alone, there will certainly be no chance of being born elsewhere. It is not that Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and ordinary beings have small minds. Rather, due to the influence of past karma, they do not encounter the door of Secret Mantra, or even if they do, they do not believe, they do not trust, and due to laziness and distraction, they cannot practice. Know that this is not a difference in the size of the mind. Do not think that all sentient beings have minds that are large or small. For those whose minds are bound by desire, do not focus only on your own benefit, but generate a vast mind towards all sentient beings who are like the sky. Then the result of that will be seeing the meaning of non-duality of self and other. This is the teaching. Thus it was said. Furthermore, Boundless Great Emptiness said: Alas, Teacher, Bhagavan, if that is the case, then are they unable to expand their minds to meditate on the profound and secret Great Perfection? Even if they meditate on the Great Perfection, is it necessary to generate the mind of enlightenment separately? Please, Teacher, explain it yourself. Thus he asked. The command was given: O son of noble family, this Great Perfection is the supreme vehicle of unsurpassed fruit. It is the very nature of all-pervading samsara and nirvana, which is the very manifestation of the great self. It is called the mind of enlightenment of the ultimate ground. Remaining in that very state, other than that, the generation of the mind of enlightenment, which is fabricated by the activity of mind and intellect, is like a stake of thought that is focused on the self, the generator, and other sentient beings, the object of generation. In the realm of Great Perfection, from the very beginning, the nature of samsara and nirvana is pure and of great equality. The omniscient great wisdom knows the reality of the ground itself as it is, and the all-seeing great wisdom sees it. Other than that, if one says that there is a more superior generation of mind, then it is like saying that water is in itself, but one must seek moisture from elsewhere. If one does not know that the great self, which is primordially pure and all-pervading samsara and nirvana, is the mind of enlightenment, then the mere good intention of parents having compassion and love for their child is only a thought of conceptual attachment.

It is like this. Merely seeking the happiness of the heavenly realms, yet expecting to attain the state of Buddhahood, is like expecting a child from a woman without a husband and becoming the master of the house. Thus it was said. Furthermore, the Bodhisattva Great Thousand Boundless asked: O Teacher, Bhagavan, please reveal the profound path of taming the objects to be tamed and liberating them. He replied: Son of noble family, although there appear to be many doors of skillful means and wisdom for entering the great city of liberation, ultimately, there are two ways: taking the mind as the path and seeking the true path; establishing the foundation and taking the nature of reality itself as the path. First, the way of taking the mind as the path is: First, for the disciples who possess vows, first tame their mindstream through the four ways of transforming the mind, which are the common outer preliminaries, and the seven ways of the uncommon inner preliminaries, and finally enter the stages of actually seeking the path, in the following way: First, go to a very secluded place, pray to the Guru, mingle your heart and mind, and abide for a moment. O Great Thousand Boundless, which of your body, speech, Oṃ (藏文:ཨོཾཿ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡) and mind is the most important? Who is the creator? Who is that unchanging, self-existing king? Please tell me. Thus, for the great purpose of taming the objects to be tamed, the way of teaching and guiding will be clearly revealed as it is. Thus it was said. Then, the Bodhisattva Great Thousand Boundless asked: O Teacher, Bhagavan, the body is made by the mind. After death, when matter and awareness separate, the mind follows the karma and wanders, again clinging to the appearance of the body. Furthermore, the body of the day, the body of the dream, and all the supports of the future body are made by the mind's clinging to self, and are merely appearances in the mind, never truly existing, and changing states in an instant. Therefore, the mind is the all-creating king, so it is the most important. A body without mind becomes a corpse, so it has no ability or power. When body and mind separate, experiencing pleasure and pain, or reaching the state of Buddhahood, Or wandering in the three realms of samsara, it is also because the mind is deluded by objects and appears, so the mind is definitely the guide. Speech is the appearance of expression, however it may appear, it is only an appearance in the mind. The mind produces the appearance of speech through conceptual thought.
