It is the basis for the mind to be supremely tranquil. The superior intention of benefiting is the desire to benefit, and benefit here refers to the non-arising of afflictions. That which is called "extremely clear" is extremely sharp, a synonym for "extremely clear." It is because it possesses the cause of the superior intention to benefit limitless sentient beings. The continuum is connected and consistently linked with the intention as described, and it proceeds in connection with the merit of the first as described, which is completely imbued. That which is called "completely imbued" is a synonym for habit. Why is it said to be connected with the superior intention of benefiting, which is focused on limitless sentient beings? It is to seize the time that is not very long after arising. Because the place has been completely transformed and is pure, it is called immaculate. Here, the complete transformation of the place refers to obtaining the basis that is contrary to the arising of afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing and the path of cultivation. Saying pure is to gather together that which has not been long since arising. Those who newly arise from the path of seeing and the state of Arhat become solely absorbed in mental pleasure because they have obtained qualities that they had not previously obtained. Therefore, their senses become extremely easily pacified. The mental continuums of worldly Samadhi practitioners are not overcome by differences. Because those causes benefit or harm those five types of individuals, they become possessors of the fruit to be experienced in this very life. That which is called "nature and fruit not completely perfected," those paths of cultivation whose nature and fruit are not completely perfected are those whose nature and fruit are not completely perfected. What is the path of cultivation? It is the path that causes the attainment of the fruit of once-returner and non-returner. It is also the path of learning, and because it is not the path of no-more-learning, its nature is not completely perfected. Its fruit is also not completely perfected, because two fruits and one fruit remain. Attaining Arhatship is the complete perfection of nature and fruit, because it is included in the uninterrupted path and the path of liberation. The path of attaining Arhatship is the path of learning.
