Regarding when to introduce, it should be combined with the phrase "Thus have I heard." This means that this sutra is difficult to hear, but it was heard at some time or at one time. Introducing encounter refers to the phrase "at one time." It is connected to "Bhagavan." Like the frog's neck and the yoke, it is difficult to obtain a human body and leisure, and having obtained it, it is difficult to encounter the appearance of a Buddha. Having encountered it, it means hearing this Dharma in Shravasti and other places. Or, this sutra was heard at one time, and other sutras were also heard at other times, thereby showing that the venerable Ananda himself heard a great deal. At this time, the Bhagavan dwells in this place and expounds this Dharma. At other times, he dwells elsewhere and expounds other Dharmas, thereby showing that the Bhagavan constantly acts for the benefit of immeasurable beings. Therefore, this is showing the perfect time. Among them, the word "Bhagavan" has three meanings: Victorious One, Possessor of Fortune, and Possessor of Merit. Among them, the Victorious One refers to conquering the four maras. The four maras are the Mara of the Sons of Gods, the Mara of Afflictions, the Mara of Death, and the Mara of the Aggregates. Among them, the Mara of the Sons of Gods refers to conquering when sitting on the Vajra Seat after manifesting enlightenment. The Mara of the Sons of Gods of the Desire Realm attacked with many weapons and many forms of harm such as mountains, but with great blessings such as love, compassion, and emptiness, even the weapons were transformed into flowers. Having subdued them, he became the unparalleled omniscient one, and when he achieved great fame, it was called conquest. The Mara of Afflictions refers to, after conquering the Mara of the Sons of Gods in the first watch of the night, in the later watch, the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing and the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of cultivation are divided into large, medium, and small, and established as nine categories. When the Vajra-like Samadhi arises, the smallest of the smallest afflictions are eliminated by the greatest of the greatest wisdom, hence it is called conquest. Therefore, the two maras are said to be conquered when sitting on the Vajra-like Samadhi seat.

The Lord of Death's demon was subdued in the city of Kusha. The Buddhas, according to their nature, reduce one-fifth of human lifespan. Shakyamuni Buddha also lived in the world for eighty years, and according to the principle of Nirvana, he subdued those sentient beings who had the opportunity to be tamed by the Buddha, while others had long been liberated by various means. When the Brahmin Subhadra was observed to be about to enter Nirvana, for those who had the opportunity to be tamed but had not yet been tamed, he delayed for three months, that is, postponed for three months, and then manifested Nirvana in this way. In addition, the demon of the aggregates was also subdued in the city of Kusha, that is, it was subdued when the five aggregates of form, etc., were completely abandoned. Therefore, both demons are said to be subdued in the city of Kusha. The name "Bhagavan" is interpreted as "Possessing Virtue" because it possesses six virtues, hence it is called "Possessing Virtue." These six virtues are: abundant wealth, form and fame, and splendor, as well as wisdom and diligence, these six are called "Bhaga." As it is said. Among them, abundant wealth refers to having both worldly and transcendental perfect wealth. Perfect form refers to having the thirty-two major marks and eighty minor marks of a great man. Perfect fame refers to the fact that in all realms of the world, it is proclaimed that he possesses perfect virtues. Perfect splendor refers to being like a wish-fulfilling tree and a wish-fulfilling jewel, capable of fulfilling the wishes of all sentient beings. Perfect wisdom refers to the wisdom of knowing all dharmas without obstruction and without attachment. Perfect diligence refers to benefiting all sentient beings and never abandoning great diligence for happiness. The name "Bhagavan" is interpreted as "Fortunate" because it possesses the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, such as the four mindfulnesses and the four right abandonments, which are equal among the four; and the five roots and five powers, etc., which are equal among the five dharmas, possessing all dharmas. Therefore, he is the perfect teacher.
