English
It is called "pramatta prabuddha purusha bata," because the sleep of ignorance has awakened, just as a person awakens from sleep, striving for awakening. Alternatively, it is said, "buddhi tikasha nadha buddha bibuddha padma bata," because wisdom opens and increases, so it is also said to be like a lotus opening and increasing, therefore it is called "Buddha." Generally, the meaning of the word refers to comprehending all dharmas and completely attaining enlightenment. It is called "bhagavana," one explanation is "bhagana mara catuh pata dva bhagavan," because the four maras have been conquered, so it is called "conqueror." Another explanation is that "bhag" is the name for six kinds of excellence, namely: form, fame, power, splendor, wisdom, and diligence, which is the general term for these six. The appearance of "van" is explained as "bhagasyasti iti bhagavan," meaning possessing. In order to make the previously translated words well-known, it is called this way. It is called "Bhagavan" because the sutras say that the qualities of the Buddha are transcendent of the world. Therefore, in order to distinguish it from the worldly "bhagavan," "transcendent" is specially added, and it is called "Bhagavan." The worldly "bhagavan" is not explained as conquering, but as possessing goodness, therefore the worldly "bhagavan" is called "Possessing Goodness." It is called "tathagata," "tatha" is thus, "gata" is gone or come or known or spoken. Generally, the meaning of the word refers to truly knowing and speaking about how the Buddhas of the past went and proceeded, and the nature of all dharmas as they are. But according to the previous saying, it is called "Tathagata." It is called "arhan," one explanation is "puja marhati iti arhan," because it is worthy of offerings from all beings such as gods and humans, so it is also called "Worthy of Offerings." Another explanation is "klesha ari hada van arhan," also called "Conqueror of the Enemy of Afflictions." From this meaning, what is emphasized here is "Conqueror of the Enemy of Afflictions," called "Arhat." In "samyaksambuddha," "samyak" is true, "sam" is samantam, sampurna, meaning complete or perfect, "buddha" refers to becoming a Buddha. Generally, it refers to the nature of all dharmas, without error, comprehending and manifestly awakening

其名称为:正等觉佛陀。梵文:Bidyā-carana-sampanna,其中Bidyā(梵文天城体:विद्या,梵文罗马拟音:vidyā,汉语字面意思:明)是明,Carana(梵文天城体:चरण,梵文罗马拟音:caraṇa,汉语字面意思:行)是足,Sampanna(梵文天城体:सम्पन्न,梵文罗马拟音:sampanna,汉语字面意思:具足)是具有或圆满的意思。

Its name is: Perfectly Enlightened Buddha. Vidyā-carana-sampanna, where Vidyā (Sanskrit: विद्या, IAST: vidyā, literal meaning: knowledge) is knowledge, Carana (Sanskrit: चरण, IAST: caraṇa, literal meaning: conduct) is foot, and Sampanna (Sanskrit: सम्पन्न, IAST: sampanna, literal meaning: endowed) means having or being complete. If combined with the three trainings, higher wisdom is knowledge, higher mind and higher discipline are feet. If combined with the eightfold noble path, right view is knowledge, and the remaining seven are feet. Knowledge is like the eye, symbolizing that one walks and achieves through the feet, hence it is called Vidyā-carana-sampanna. Sugata, one explanation is: Shobhana-gata-sugata-surupa-bata, meaning well-gone, because he has gone well, like a beautiful form. Apunar-pratyāgata-sunashta-jvara-bata, meaning well-gone, because he has gone and will not return, like a plague that has been completely eradicated. Yā-bangata-byak-ma-nāta-sugata, Supurna-ghata-bata, meaning well-gone, because he has completed all that needs to be completed, like a perfectly filled vase. Another explanation is, from the Dharma-skandha it says: Sugata iti sukhito bhagavān, Svargata-abyathita, Dharma-samanvāgata, Tadu-cyate sugata, meaning the Blessed One has attained bliss and possesses the bliss of the heavens, without harm, and possesses the Dharma without harm, therefore he is called Sugata or one who has attained bliss. Here, combining the previous statement and the statement from the Dharma-skandha, it is called Sugata. Loka-vid, where Loka (Sanskrit: लोक, IAST: loka, literal meaning: world) is the world, and Vid is Vid-jnana, meaning the Tathagata observes the realms of sentient beings three times during the day and three times during the night, and knows whether they have the capacity or not, therefore it is called Knower of the World. Anuttara-purusa-damya-sarathi, where Anuttara (Sanskrit: अनुत्तर, IAST: anuttara, literal meaning: unsurpassed) is unsurpassed, Purusa-damya-sarathi is the tamer of men, meaning for those with strong hatred like Angulimala, and those with strong desire like Nanda, and those with strong delusion like Utpalavarna, these sentient beings who are difficult to tame like wild horses, those who are tamed gently are tamed gently, those who are tamed harshly are tamed harshly, and those who are tamed by both are tamed by both, because the method is skillful and easy.
