关于用五种大根,即栋树根等,以及煮熟的青稞面汤来喂食的(方法)。对于大便阻塞且有疾病的,用荜茇和余甘子,加入青稞面汤用酥油炒制,能使污垢和疾病顺利排出。意思是说,如果病人患有大便阻塞的疾病,就喂他青稞面汤。具体做法是,在青稞面中加入荜茇和余甘子,然后用酥油炒制,做成面汤给他喝,这样就能使污垢和疾病顺利排出。对于腹部大便阻塞且有疾病的,用豆蔻、荜茇根、葡萄、当药、余甘子等煮汤喂食。意思是说,如果腹部大便阻塞,并且感到恶心想吐,就用豆蔻等药材煮汤喂食。对于感觉腹部像被刀割一样疼痛的,用臭椿、达地果、娑罗树皮、黑香草、栋树来喂食。意思是说,对于感觉腹部像被刀割一样疼痛的疾病,就用臭椿等药材混合后煮汤喂食。达地果指的是bṛṣa aṃpala(梵文罗马拟音)。对于无力、失眠、口渴难耐的,用白糖、当药、余甘子等。以及臭椿、白糖、葡萄和石花、姜黄、檀香等,加入汤中喂食,加入蜂蜜则能消除热病。这些都是汤药,也可以加入肉汤、豆汤等。意思是说,对于身体虚弱、失眠、口渴难耐的人,就用白糖等药材混合后煮汤喂食。这些与汤混合使用的药物,也可以加入肉汤等一起喂食。正如《摄略》中所说:“汤药和合用药,肉汤豆汤等亦可加。”这里所说的肉汤,指的是煮肉的汤。而豆汤,指的是用门豆等煮的汤做成的饮料。此外,还可以加入其他饮料,如酸奶、酪浆,以及用葡萄等煮的饮料,如糖水,以及蔬菜等一起使用。也就是说:“汤、肉汤、豆汤等,从美味的饮料等中,加入药物的剂量来调配。根据世俗习惯和适当情况调配。或者只要药物能,与此相适应即可,还要考虑疾病、食量、年龄、体力和类型。”

For obstructed stool in the stomach with illness, decoct and feed with cardamom, pippali root, grapes, gentian, emblic myrobalan, etc. That is to say, if the stool is obstructed in the stomach, and one is nauseous and has gruel, then feed him gruel decocted with cardamom, etc. For feeling as if the abdomen is cut, feed with Chinese sumac, datura, sala parni, krishnaparni, and vilva. That is to say, for the disease of feeling as if the inside of the abdomen is cut with a knife, feed gruel mixed with Chinese sumac, etc. Datura is bṛṣa aṃpala (Sanskrit). For those who are weak, sleepless, and afflicted by thirst, use white sugar, gentian, and emblic myrobalan. And Chinese sumac, white sugar, grapes, and stone flower, turmeric, and sandalwood, feed with thirst and nausea. With honey, it subdues fever. These are gruel medicines, and meat broth, bean broth, etc., can also be added. That is to say, for those who are weak, sleepless, light, and afflicted and tormented by thirst, feed gruel mixed with white sugar, etc. These medicines used in conjunction with gruel can also be added to meat broth, etc., and fed. As it is said in the Compendium: "With gruel and combined medicines, meat broth, bean broth, etc., can also be added." The meat broth mentioned here is the broth from cooked meat. And bean broth is a drink made from the broth of cooked mung beans, etc. Furthermore, other drinks such as yogurt, buttermilk, and drinks made from cooked grapes, such as sugar water, and vegetables, etc., can also be added. That is: "Gruel, meat broth, bean broth, etc., from delicious drinks, etc., add the dosage of medicine to mix. Mix according to worldly customs and appropriateness. Or as long as the medicine can, make it compatible with that, and consider the disease, appetite, age, strength, and type."
