Chitrak with shikru, or with sletre, avamaga, tangshin shoga water, or with senden, dawa tree, or with danti, dravanti, or with Tibetan fennel, thorn sugar, or with cardamom, purnava. Choose any one of these six formulas, grind it into powder and mix it with shoga water and apply, it can eliminate leprosy caused by wind and phlegm. Methods for treating leprosy. For leprosy accompanied by bodily damage, one can use the bitter sophora medicinal oil mentioned earlier, as well as ghee that has been washed a hundred times, sesame oil, sandalwood, sweet wood, white water lily, utpala (Sanskrit Devanagari: उत्पल, Sanskrit Romanization: utpala, Chinese literal meaning: utpala), properly decocted, or any of these applied as an ointment will be beneficial. If the body is ulcerated, limbs are missing, the body is feverish, rashes appear, and the skin is decaying, then using cooling ointments, enemas, bloodletting, purgatives, and bitter sophora medicinal oil will be beneficial. One can use Senghdang (transliteration), Vasa, neem, mustard greens, three fruits, white sandalwood, and Sletres (transliteration), mixed with cow urine, taken internally and externally, or with enemas and other treatments, to eliminate leprosy caused by parasites. For leprosy with excessive wind, medicinal oil should be used first. For leprosy caused by phlegm, emetics should be administered first. For leprosy caused by bile, bloodletting and purgatives should be used first. For all leprosy, if there is no blood disorder and the intestines are cleansed with purgatives, then using the ointments and other medicines mentioned earlier will have an immediate effect; but if there is a blood disorder and the intestines are not clean, it will not be so. Therefore, if there is no blood disorder and the intestines are clean, then according to the oils and other medicines mentioned earlier, if they are prepared according to the timing, all leprosy can certainly be cured and is easy to treat. For severe leprosy with multiple diseases, the intestines should be repeatedly cleansed with purgatives and other methods. If, after such cleansing, the patient becomes weak, loses strength, and is weakened by wind, life will end quickly, so the doctor should strive to protect life. If leprosy is cured by all these treatments, in order to prevent recurrence, purgatives should be used every half month to cleanse the upper part of the body. Purgatives should be used once a month to cleanse the wounds of the body. Head purgatives should be used every three days to cleanse the head. Similarly, bloodletting should be performed every six months, that is, blood should be drawn. If leprosy is not well treated with purgatives and the intestines are not cleansed, the disease will worsen again.
