Thus it is. It is said, the object is as before, the necessity of the two negations, as before, eliminating all that is said to be universally conceived, etc., thus it is shown. There are also many differences in the object, so here it is said, it is called the object of desire. It is said, desire is also the activity and also the object, thus it is the reality of the meaning thought of by the desire arising from attention. These are to show the difference of the cause of the two kinds of negation, it is to speak of the difference of the cause. So it is said. Now, wanting to show not only the difference of the collection of negations, but the difference of the nature of negation itself, therefore it is said, the difference of non-affirmation is. So it is said. Among them, for a while, in order to show the difference between the negation of the opponent and the negation of the other. Those who harm the continuum together, likewise those who do not, by difference, are said to be the opponent and the other. It is said, the nature of a thing, which remains continuously without interruption, if the continuum of another thing approaches it, then there is a time when its own nature disappears, this and the other, although close to its own continuum, yet there is no benefit or harm to its own ability, anyone who is close to his own continuum, then there is an increase in his own continuum. Among them, here, by making the damage and preventing the damage, it is divided into two, the opponent and the other. The distinction between contradiction, weakness, and inferiority is: in that meaning, in otherness, from the sound of what is to be negated, it is otherness, from the nature of what is to be negated, it is not otherness, it is contradiction, otherness, and inferiority. It is said, thus in otherness, also from the sound of what is to be negated, it is shown as otherness, therefore it is called otherness, from the nature of what is to be negated, it is not shown as otherness, therefore it is inferiority, the former meaning of the opponent is shown as contradiction, and it is divided into three. Among them, in contradiction, there are two that can coexist, incompatibility and opponent, thus when living together, they do not live without harm. It is also not contradictory in distant places, and not contradictory in harmonious and equal places, but it has not abandoned the nature of contradiction. Thus, in the room, there is a lamp on one side, and darkness on one side, then on each side both live and there is harm.

Even without it, the nature of a lamp dispelling darkness is not abandoned. Dispelling darkness also occurs when the power of darkness diminishes, and there the manifestation of its own power arises. Even if not entirely, there is no fault in naming it 'contradiction' from everything to everything, precisely because its own nature is not abandoned. All contradictions are also of two types: contradictions that arise simultaneously and contradictions in the nature of a single entity. Among these, contradictions that arise simultaneously are also of three types: contradictions that weaken power, contradictions that do not separate the occasion of their own nature, and contradictions that harm each other. Among these, contradictions that weaken power are like light in relation to darkness. How does it dispel darkness by having the function of weakening the power of darkness? Contradictions that do not separate the occasion of their own nature are like darkness in relation to light. How does darkness not separate the opportunity for light until its own power has not diminished? Contradictions that harm each other are like the touch of cold and heat. In this way, even if the touch of cold is powerful and there is the touch of heat, it becomes the nature of harming the arising of other similarities. If the touch of heat is powerful, it is the same. These two are like abiding in the nature of being able to act. Contradictions in the nature of a single entity are also of two types: existence and non-existence, being and non-being. Among these, the former is known as directly contradictory, and the latter is known as indirectly contradictory. How is it? For example, the existence of Devadatta directly abandons non-existence and abides, and non-existence is the same. Non-being must first be understood as not existing before, and then it is known as not being original. Among these, non-existence is the negation of non-existence, which here is impermanence. Non-being is the occasion. Here, what is said as negating as contradiction should be understood only as contradictions that arise simultaneously. Among these, similarity is the continuous arising of similar moments, both previous and subsequent. 'Simultaneous' refers to a dharma that arises from two continuums into one, that is, generating another moment. Contradiction is when one arises, the other disappears. Contradiction, incompatibility, and separation are synonyms. What is to be represented or
