These are refutations of acceptance, and so on. There are two types of supplements: root supplements and word supplements. Among these, root supplements are all instances of making the letters complete. Word supplements are words and the remaining parts of words. What relates to time is any sound that can indicate the past, present, and future. 'Separate, collect, other-exclusion, the two,' etc., refers to showing separation and collection, etc., that is, separating and collecting, and collecting and separating. These entities are different, but sometimes they have the function of collecting due to the context. This has the connection of 'also,' and sometimes it is also used in reasons, temporal distinctions, bases, establishing statements, and root supplements. If this exists, there is no undifferentiated difference. What is expressed by collecting words, as well as change and the meaning of other, is due to the force of the context, not due to the words themselves. 'Other-exclusion' means excluding others, which agrees with negation and affirmation in each direction. This means that if it is stated after something, it either summarizes its mother category into generalities, or it excludes the differences of the same category from the former. That is, it states it on the basis of the difference, and if it states the difference, it categorizes the basis of the difference, showing that other things do not have that difference, which is called 'other-exclusion of definitely grasping the non-possessor of others.' Those things whose basis and difference are not compatible in nature also establish that the basis and difference possess a certain attribute through the way of possessing existence. If it is stated, it definitely grasps the connection and completely cuts off unrelated things. For example, if it is said, 'Only blue lotuses exist,' it is other-exclusion of difference. If it is said, 'Blue only exists on lotuses,' it is other-exclusion of the basis. If it is said, 'Only blue exists on lotuses,' it definitely shows that blue exists on lotuses, thus cutting off non-existence and unrelated things. Similarly, it is stated in the same way for different things. Now, for the former two, there may be changes due to the uncertainty of the context. Cutting off unrelated things, if there is no contradiction in the difference and the basis itself, then the emphatic word has no power to show uncertainty. In general, things that belong to the category of emphasis are the difference of the previous sentence.

Discernment, the discernment of essence, and the combination of non-duality, etc., should be understood through the power of the occasion. Sound has no power. Furthermore, emphatic sounds are also used as particles in words that are not deceptive. It is due to the power of the occasion. If something to be shown is indicated by the words "only" and "itself," then that meaning should be known as true. That is the prevention of word particles. What is called "second" is the second part of the word. For example, like something that can be transformed into both "doing" and "action," like something that can be transformed into both "is" and "exists." For example, it is not only two, but "other and two." The word of one and the word of two, the word of many and the one with signs. The word that shows one is the word of one; similarly, apply it to others as well. For example, "tree," "trees," "all trees," etc., are words that indicate number. The one with signs is the word that has signs. If it is associated with any of the signs of masculine, feminine, or neuter, then it represents sounds that are vast in meaning, as well as doing actions, gathering, etc., distinguishing between doing and not doing. They exist with those, by guiding, manifesting, and possessing. The word of the edge and the word of the center. The so-called "word of the edge and the word of the center" refers to the words that can guide the edge and guide the center if something exists in something else; these are the words of the edge and the center. For example, "form, etc.," and "from form to consciousness," etc. Approaching near and far, manifest and hidden, approaching very hidden. The so-called "approaching near and far, manifest and hidden, approaching very hidden" refers to the sounds that cause one to approach meanings that are near and manifest, and the sounds that cause one to approach things that are far, hidden, and very hidden. Among these, the meaning that is near is the proximity of place; in relation to what, this is near. The place that becomes the three lords of knowledge is manifest. What becomes this meaning is said to be "this," whether it is speaking, explaining, or something else. What is far is the distance of place; in relation to what, that is said to be far. What is hidden is what cannot be manifested. What is very hidden is what cannot be known because there is no history; those are hidden, so they are called "that."
