It is said that seeing fire is unreasonable, because it would become without inference. That is to say, seeing smoke for fire that is not manifest is impossible. Therefore, only at the time of holding the sign can fire be recognized, so it would become without inference. Therefore, etc. Because there is no other way, it must be undoubtedly acknowledged that "here" refers to the place. They also say that "it is only the subject," fire and smoke are said to be the nature of the place. Moreover, to be distinguished by fire, the dharma of that place must be proven by smoke, so there is no reason without a part. Then, even so, smoke is only the possessor of qualities such as billowing and grayness, and similarly, fire is only the possessor of qualities such as warmth and burning, so how can these be dharmas? Therefore it is said, here, etc. For the terms to be proven and proving, it is not meant to manifest dharma and subject with qualities and possessors of qualities. So what is it? It depends on the thing to be proven itself. If something is distinguished by something, and something is to be proven, that is the subject, because it is to be benefited; and the others are dharma, because they are the benefactors, so fire and smoke become dharma. Among them, which are touched by fire? This refers to having a warm touch. Because it is fire. Here, only touch is to be proven, and touch is also dharma, because it is the quality of having a body. As before, if "here" is connected to fire, then one part of the meaning of the commitment becomes the reason. The touch to be inferred, seeing fire is also unreasonable, because it would become without inference. Therefore, it must be undoubtedly said "here" etc. For the time being, for everything, etc., in dwellings, houses, etc., where there is smoke, fire is not seen, so the place is to be proven.

It is reasonable to be made. Fire devoid of warm touch is never an object. Therefore, just as "smoke is connected with fire, like other smoke" is wrong, similarly, "fire has a warm touch, because it is fire itself, like other fire" is not wrong. Therefore, in order to prove that the characteristic of fire is the characteristic of being tangible, examining the location is meaningless. Although it changes now, since what is to be proven and what proves are not different, will one aspect of the meaning of the commitment become a reason? Answer: No, and so on. Even if the characteristic of fire is to be proven, it must be undoubtedly admitted that the location is to be proven, because only the characteristic of the location can become the characteristic of fire, otherwise it is not. Undoubtedly, that location is made as fire, and the location must also be proven by the warm touch itself. What is this aversion to the characteristics of the location and fondness for the characteristics of fire? "The subject also because of that," meaning the dharma. Here, the opponent's thought is: the main thing is the subject, because it has dharmas such as complete change. Moreover, here, one should prove by the very nature of the dharma that follows the various characteristics, and not state other dharmas. Non-established cannot be an established dharma, therefore, the statement "dharma-nature itself is the reason" is unreasonable. There, "only various characteristics," etc., the various characteristics are the various internal and external changes, and it should be proven that they have the same cause. Why is this? Answer: Just like that, and so on. It is said like this: the characteristics of common precedents are seen in the world as having the same category, such as pottery and gold ornaments, etc. Like this, when giving examples, one should also prove what is to be proven and what proves by approximation and conclusion.

it will become clear. Similarly, regarding the distinctions of the inner self-nature, because there is a relationship of following the same kind, therefore they are called things with a common antecedent, or things with the same cause. Therefore, it should be understood that through the reason of following the same kind, these distinctions should be proven to have the same cause. These distinctions are proven to be things with the same cause because someone thinks and says, "Whatever has the same cause, that is the main thing." This is what is called "the chief exists." Therefore, here too, the reason cannot be without pervasion. Therefore, etc., because in this way, the entity to be proven of the dharma and the possessor of dharma does not exist. Because the dharma to be proven is other. The so-called "other dharma is the reason," etc., it should be understood that the dharma to be proven, such as impermanence, etc., should be proven to be that which does not arise without it. Furthermore, if it is said, "dharma proves dharma," how is that? These distinctions can be obtained merely through this, due to the power of wanting to express. If there is ability, sounds can be accomplished according to the intention to express, for example, "Through what do the limbs change?" like this. Therefore, here, dharma through dharma, three different combinations should be observed, such as "the possessor of dharma is not proven by the possessor of dharma," etc., it is only the action. Previously it was said that the possessor of dharma distinguished by dharma is to be proven, but now it is said, "dharma proves dharma." Therefore, someone thinks that this statement is contradictory and puts the prover in third place, so he asks, "Why?" Because the possessor of dharma is in need of proof in this way. Therefore, by saying this, the cause is explained. Therefore, etc., through these, this alone is distinguished. Because the possessor of dharma distinguished by dharma is to be proven, therefore, the dharma that proves should be proven to be that which the dharma to be proven does not arise without. This alone is the method by which the possessor of dharma distinguished by dharma is established, this is his intention. Therefore, just as it was said earlier: "The sign is not confused with the dharma, other
