Regarding the understanding of meaning, other extremely intelligent people understand it in other ways, so there is no final conclusion. Others say: Inference for the sake of others, in relation to the speaker, is following the narration, therefore it is not a valid means of knowledge. In relation to the listener, it is one's own meaning, through hearing one understands that meaning, or through seeing, what is the difference? If there is the function of the sense of sight, then it will not become a term for the meaning of others, similarly, if there is the function of the sense of hearing, it will not change either. By this one sees, seeing is the sense of the eye. Cognition is knowledge. Similarly, words in relation to the listener are not inference for the sake of others, because it is the cause of knowledge entering the listener's continuum, or because it is what makes one know, like a sense organ. The listener knows through the continuum, thus separating it, two reasons are shown. For example, like a sense organ, this is an illustration. Here the combination is different, in relation to the listener, words are not inference for the sake of others, because what is to be inferred is directly inferred, like knowing the relationship of non-arising without it. Therefore, this is to clearly show direct inference. Because what is to be inferred is eliminated, therefore words in relation to the listener are not a valid means of knowledge, like knowing the relationship of non-arising without it, this is the meaning of language. The relationship of the established and the establisher of non-arising without it, or the relationship of non-arising without it, through what sign is known by what is to be established, thus combining the words. If in terms of the actions of others, this is said for the sake of the meaning of others. This is also unreasonable, because one's own meaning will also become the meaning of others, because the other itself is the basis, like this shore and the other shore. Answering with "the three aspects of a sign" etc., to this, for the first combination, because it has the reason of the three-aspect sign preceding, this reason is explained as contradictory. The characteristic of not deceiving, saying

Yaba ni (Yaba ni) is represented by this characteristic, just as the knowledge that arises from a reason with three characteristics is related to things in an indirect way. Therefore, it does not deceive, just like direct perception. As it is said: Thus the subject with the reason and the intellect, Through indirectness with things, Because of the appearance there, Although empty, it is not a deceiver. Thus it is said. The so-called "its characteristic" is the characteristic of non-deception, as it is said: Measurement is merely non-deception. Knowledge. Because it is said like that. If it is said to be a valid means of cognition, then one cannot point out non-deception as the reason for establishing validity apart from direct perception. Moreover, this also exists in things produced by reasons with three characteristics. Why does the reason with three characteristics precede it, and then obstruct the cause of non-deception, which is validity itself? This shows that what is to be proven and what can be proven are contradictory in meaning. Just like this, wherever the reason with three characteristics precedes it and is not deceptive, there is validity. Validity and non-validity are mutually exclusive, because they are contradictions with the characteristic of existence, so indirectly it shows that the reason is contradictory. The so-called "harming the intention" and so on, are said to be the incompleteness of what the example is to prove. Because what is to be proven is the opposite of the opponent's intention, that is also not a valid means of cognition. Just like this, if one relies on other things to be proven, everything will become a valid means of cognition, then direct perception will also become a fault. Relying on the previous aspect, it is called inverted knowledge, not because things exist. The former is the aspect that was first spoken of, it is the former aspect, separate and connect the words "relying on it". Those who think that the eye and so on are indivisible and do the same thing, relying on their thoughts, it is called inverted knowledge. Because the eye and so on are proven to be impermanent, and are the cause of knowledge of the form of smoke and so on, it is called contradiction. Because the reason with three characteristics precedes it, there is no validity at all. Because validity exists in this knowledge itself that harms the intention.
