If someone asks, does the treatise called "Like a Cow" state separately when stating the meaning with differences such as lineage? Therefore, "everywhere" and so on are mentioned. The so-called "everywhere" also includes words such as lineage. This is what is being taught: Just as when combining arbitrarily formed words, the meaning with the difference of name is stated, so also from words such as "cow" and so on, the meaning with the difference of name is also stated. This should be applied to all treatises. Then, how should the other third party with the end of three, namely lineage, गुण(藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,guna, attribute), कार्य(藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,kārya, action), and द्रव्य(藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,dravya, substance), be combined? Therefore, "by this" and so on are mentioned. For example, the word "cow" uses lineage to act, thereby stating the meaning with the difference of name, and so are गुण(藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,guna, attribute) and so on. Similarly, since lineage and so on are related to the way of distinguishing what can be done, it can be determined that they themselves have results. If so, it is to combine names and lineages, etc. Then, how should they be related to this sutra? It is said, "through names and lineages, etc.," combination is the remainder. This word "this" shows the obtained distinction through the meaning of summary. The combination of lineages, etc. is the combination of lineages, etc., and the combination of names and lineages, etc. is the combination of names and lineages, etc., which exists through the meaning of summary. If so, in arbitrarily formed words, since there is no lineage, etc. as a reason for entering, then this establishment will become non-universal. In order to eliminate this doubt, it is said, "the meaning expressed by arbitrarily formed words." This is what is being taught: All those words that are called arbitrarily formed words, such as "spotted," etc., from the beginning of birth until death, the difference of each moment that follows, this uncommon phenomenon, for those objects that cannot be understood as different things, it is precisely by stating the lineage of objects with time difference limitations that they are grasped. Otherwise, for the situation of children, etc.

Then, how can the object of the completely determined part of the entity show the difference in states such as old age? According to some, the body is not momentary. Then what is it? It exists at other times. According to those views, also because time is related like a branch of thought, it is proven that things are different in different states. For the view of complete change, it is also promised that the thing associated with the difference in state is the object of expression of the sound. If so, when relying on other states, that thing will not be expressed by that sound. For example, just as the sound of milk expressed by the expression that is determined as milk does not apply to yogurt, so too, for the body, it will not apply to other states, so there is no doubt that the genus must be admitted. If the genus does not become a thing, even so, it is not an unpervading establishment, because in this way, those differences themselves do not want to be expressed, the difference is a generality, so the difference itself is taken by the sound of the genus in all cases, so the conventional sound is also expressing the genus. As it is said: Genus is the meaning of the word, genus or the difference of having a genus, what is the sound made for? Therefore, those are expressing the genus. It has been said like this. Then, why did the author of the treatise show the conventional sounds separately from the sounds of the genus? Because it is very famous, so it is said. In the world, sounds such as cow are famous for expressing the genus, and armlets and good things are famous for being the sounds of names, so they are said separately. However, and so on, others argue, true, and so on, answer, like this, this is only the difference between the sounds of name, genus, quality, action, and thing, which are five kinds. If it is not intended to manifest the famous realization in one's own school, then why? Others use empty sounds to express meanings with differences. In this treatise, the teacher's own
