Etc. Having said these. Just as it is said among those three, if this realization is considered to be a limb of valid cognition (pramāṇa), then, is it not valid cognition? Or, the so-called valid cognition is two kinds of conceptualization (vikalpa). If it is the first conceptualization, then it will not become a limb of the determination of valid cognition, because it itself is not valid cognition. If it is considered not to be valid cognition, then it is actually not a limb of the determination of terminology. If it is said to be the second aspect, then those knowledges that want to express will also fall into the fault of not being related to the validity from others. In order to show that there is no connection, one would ask "the nature of the validity of that realization" etc. That "also" means the knowledge without harm. If it is said that this fault also applies here, then, having said "if it is valid cognition" etc., it is only understanding. The "also" here means the knowledge without harm. Furthermore, because of this, from the merits, "no faults" etc., with the reason shown, if it is completely certain that it is valid cognition, then all valid cognitions promise to come from others, and it will become unrelated. In order to show that, it is "because of this, from the merits" etc. If it is said that it was shown earlier, then, for the merits in the continuum of others, because it is beyond the reach of the senses of those who see this shore, if that is not certain, then not having faults cannot be certain either, therefore, non-validity and non-duality cannot be certain either, so validity cannot be established from merits. If it is said that those only exist to provide help, then such a thought will become inconsistent, and all kinds of faults like that will occur. Furthermore, because of this, from the merits, "no faults" etc., as a limb of the determination of validity, the so-called "non-validity and non-duality" and "no faults", whichever of these two, is it just wanting to negate non-existence, or is it said to be the nature of negating non-existence, these are two investigations. For the first aspect, explaining the fault is, having said "no faults" etc. If it is just wanting to negate non-existence, then at that time it will not become established.

Thus, is it established from itself or from another? If it is established from itself, then is it established through its own clear nature, or from the aspect of generating certainty? If it is established from another, then sometimes is it established from an object, or from a non-object? These are the aspects. Briefly analyzing, it is not reasonable for it to be established from its own clear nature, because that is the nature of non-things, and the clear nature is also a dharma of things. Merely through self-awareness, knowledge is established as the clear nature, and merely by negating the nature of things, it is not negating the absence of characteristics. It is also not established from itself from the aspect of generating certainty, because non-things are characterized by being devoid of all abilities, therefore it should not be a producer. Even if it is a producer, it would become the essence of things, and because there is no ability to assist, it does not rely on co-action, and merely existing would become the fault of inevitably producing results. From another, it is also not established from an object. From what is it established? Because it is a non-thing, because it is the nature of non-things, and an object is an object of things. It is also not established from a non-object, because it would become the fault of being endless. Thus, how is it established that a non-object is also the nature of non-things? For it, the thought of whether it is self-born or other-born will arise. Briefly analyzing, it is not from itself, because it would become the fault as previously stated. It is also not from another, because it would become the fault of being endless. To explain this endlessness, it is "faults and non-validity are both absent." The meaning is that faults and non-validity, these two, are absent. Secondly, for refuting non-existence, faults are also explained, which is "that is also the nature of non-existence." Etc., because it is a negation, the absence of faults would only become the nature of qualities. In this way, complete knowledge would also become the nature of knowing qualities, but that is also undesirable. Merely knowing qualities, at that time...
