In short, the unseen agent is the one who gives the fruit, arising from the merit self and mind, and is not contrary to its own fruit. This is divided into two types by the difference between Dharma and non-Dharma. Among them, Dharma is the cause of what the agent desires, benefits, and liberates. Non-Dharma is the cause of what is undesirable, unhelpful, and binding. As such, the definition of the unseen as stated by other schools, this is the cause possessed by self and mind, etc., because it has been previously refuted, so it is established that it is non-existent because it has no cause. Sound is considered to be the merit of space, because it was initially refuted by "hearing sequence, etc.," so there is no need to mention the refutation of this again. In the difficult commentary of "The Compendium of Reality," the examination of the meaning of merit is the sixteenth (chapter). In order to distinguish the meaning of the word karma, it is said that "destruction in an instant," etc. The sutra says, "Lifting, placing, contracting, stretching, walking," etc. are karma. Among them, lifting is what arises from the cause of having and distinguishing the directions above and below. For example, a limb of the body or a physical object related to it, such as lifting, etc., due to the cause of having the differences of the upper, lower, and frontal parts of space, etc., the cause of distinguishing the lower part, and the control of effort, etc., the karma that arises is called lifting. The karma of the cause of having and distinguishing that is opposite to this is placing. The cause of an object changing from straight to curved is contraction. As it is said, when the fingertips, etc., of straight objects such as arms, etc., have the distinctions possessed by space, etc., and the places of their own roots, etc., with which karma does the limb with the characteristics of arms, etc., become curved, that is called contraction. Conversely, what produces having and distinguishing, with which karma does the limb become upright, that is called stretching. What is the cause of distinguishing pots, etc., whose place and direction are uncertain, that is walking. Lifting, etc.

The four arising from division are connected with space, etc., which are definite in place and direction, and are the cause of distinction. Movement is connected with indefinite directions and all the dharmas of direction, and makes distinctions. Therefore, only five kinds of actions change, wandering, shaking, and playing, etc., are all included in movement itself. These five kinds of actions are also established as existing by measuring the results of combination and distinction existing in corporeal substances. The difference between combination and distinction is a common result, therefore, this is established by the result. Similarly, it is also established by direct perception, as it is said, number and measure, and individuality itself, and combination and distinction, etc., and otherness and non-otherness, etc., actions are perceptible to the eye because they combine with form. Therefore, these are a brief exposition of the tenets of other schools. Therefore, for this, combination and distinction, because they have been previously refuted, their result is not established. If combination and distinction, characterized by uninterrupted arising, are said to be the cause because they are its result, even so, it is an uncertain reason, because such actions and their concomitance are not established anywhere. Because the reason pervades the opposite of what is to be proven, it is also contradictory. If one proves that the cause is merely existence, then it is also a proof of what has already been established, because wind, etc., are considered to be the cause of such combination and distinction. Proving the difference is also refuted by the commitment, just like this, the object of action and aggregation is momentary or not momentary. For the time being, it is not momentary, because it is destroyed in the place of arising, because it has decayed, it is impossible to go to another place. The syllogism is, whatever is destroyed in a certain place, then after that it does not go from there to another place, just like a lamp, etc. All things that are intended to be expressed are also destroyed in the place of arising.
