It is not qualities, etc., because by blocking matter, those are also blocked, and if there is no matter that is in harmony, there is no harmony either, it is not worth being respectful here to refute this. Matter is earth, water, fire, wind, space, time, direction, self, and mind, these nine types. In order to refute the self, this is also being established, whatever is an occasional knower, that is the former with an occasional cause, like the knowledge of one who is well tamed. The knowledge of pride is also occasional, this is the reason of the fruit of meaning. This is not unestablished, because the knowledge of the subject pride is manifestly established by the mind. The distinction of occasional nature itself is also not unestablished, because there is no knowledge of "all times." It is also not contradictory, because it is seen in the concordant side. It is also not uncertain, like smoke and non-existence, because the pervasion of occasional knowledge and the manifest and non-manifest of occasional causes are established. If occasional knowledge is also born from a non-occasional cause, then it will become not born from an occasional cause. For those with uncertain causes, it will also become without cause. Similarly, if this is uncertain, then the reasons for the most famous smoke, etc., will also become uncertain, because there is no difference. Furthermore, if the agent of "I" is indeed a non-occasional prior cause, then it will necessarily occur constantly. Since the cause is the nature of the agent, if the non-agent is also the cause of close examination, then the agent and the non-agent are not the same. Even if it exists, it will become that the agent is also a non-agent, because it is its own nature. Furthermore, if the agent of "I" is born from a non-occasional cause, then it will necessarily occur simultaneously, because there is no incomplete assembly. If you say that the object of the agent of "I" is the self, but not the cause, it is not so, because the non-cause is not reasonable to be the object, and it will become too extreme.

Thus it is said. If asked, does the object called space exist even slightly, or does it not? It is only non-existent. Because where there is an obstructive substance, space does not give opportunity; where there is no obstruction, opportunity is established because of the absence of obstruction itself. Therefore, what does space give opportunity to? Therefore, if this exists, it will become an opportunity for all things in all ways. But that is also non-existent. Therefore, we realize that space is only non-existent. This is also a refutation explained in relation to the views of the Vaibhashikas. The opponents assert that space has the quality of sound. Because it is one, all sounds would not be heard as different, since the location is the same. Therefore, like a very close place, the sound that is desired to appear in a distant place would also be heard. Or, it is not other, so it is unchanging. Because directions and times are also the same, it is unreasonable to understand east and west, etc. This is only impossible to speculate with the mind. Because in that way, simultaneous knowledge does not arise, so the minds of those who say these things can be inferred, and experiencing many simultaneous knowledges, such as watching a dance, is inevitable. If the mind changes, then these knowledges are not valid, therefore the mind is also non-existent. Earth and so on remain as remainders, and they are also considered to be of two kinds, with parts and differences in atoms. Among them, for things with parts, such as pots, which are famously composed of atoms in a sequence of two atoms and so on, it has already been said that the non-appearance of the characteristic of the object is harmful. If there are no things with parts, then how does this appearance as one occur? This is because different things that are close together appear that way, and some things related to this will eventually be understood as having no difference, which has already been said. So, what is this called appearing as different things? It is only that aggregates of atoms in different directions and places appear separately. If that is the case, then separately
