How do manifest phenomena become coarse? The master of Dharma said so. In this, the meaning is only this. There is no experience of meaning in its own nature, experiencing meaning becomes an object of investigation. It is known from these words. Therefore, whatever appears separately, such as blue, and the experience of being pervasive in different realms, this alone is the coarse appearance, there is no fault. Furthermore, the atoms that the Vaibhashikas assert to be the constituents of matter, in the view of the Vaibhashikas, are the objects of direct perception, while in the view of the Sautrantikas, they are those that abandon their own characteristics. These are not established in the view of the Yogacharas. It is absolutely impossible to establish an atom that is located in the center, because it must be assumed that there are atoms located below, above, and in the four directions, therefore it will become a six-part entity. Whatever the nature of this thing is close to the eastern atom, it is not possible for it to be close to the western atom at the same time, because in that case they would obtain the same realm. Thus, if the near nature of the eastern atom is recognized by the western atom and changes, then it will also become like that. Even if there is no proximity, merely facing the direction of manifestation is only an extreme, in that case, the aggregate will become only as large as an atom. Alternatively, this analysis is like this: Whatever these things that appear separately, it is temporarily impossible for them to be one, because this is the analysis that will be said immediately. Nor can it be multiple, because the atom cannot be found from the parts of the atom. Thus, if it has parts, then how can it be an atom? If it is without parts, then the atoms that are combined with it will also not have different realms from each other because of complete combination, so all aggregates will become only as large as an atom. The mountain is also, the earth is also, so it must be admitted that their inseparable natures are different. Just as the nature of these things is, the nature of the atoms below, above, south, and north, and those close to them, are also different, therefore, it is reasonable that the atom has six parts.

It is because of arrival. What is said is: Because six are joined together simultaneously, the component parts of the subtle dust become six. These six, because they are in one place, become a clump of minute dust. Thus it is said. If one does not exist, then many also do not exist, so subtle dusts do not exist. If external objects do not exist, then what is the object of this appearance? This appearance must be understood as arising only from beginningless habits that are not as they are, and without an object. If there is an object, then it will become an object, and it will also become a collection of limbs or subtle dusts. However, both of these are immediately refuted by the damaging measure mentioned earlier, and this dispute will not go beyond a lotus in the sky. As it is said: Appearance is without an object, like experiencing a dream. Thus it is said. The consciousness of a dream is also recognized as being without an object. There is not even the slightest difference between the experience of dreaming and waking, because all aspects are seen as the same. For that which is without an object, the consciousness that has not obtained a difference in essence cannot experience a feeling associated with an object. Whatever is not different from that which is without an object is that which is without an object. For example, seeing one hair in the sky is like seeing a second hair in the sky. The consciousness of waking, which is the basis of the dispute, is no different from the consciousness of dreaming, which has an object and is without an object, this is the reasoning of self-nature. If external objects do not exist, then what exists? Only consciousness, which is free from the impurities of the grasper and the grasped, and without elaboration, exists as the ultimate truth. As it is said: Consciousness, liberated from the grasper and the grasped, exists as the ultimate truth. Thus it is said. Again it is said: The mind has no other object to experience, nor does it have another experiencer. Because it is free from the grasper and the grasped, it itself is very bright. Thus it is said. This is also what the Bhagavan said: Just as it is later distinguished, external objects do not exist. The mind disturbed by habits will appear as an object. Thus it is said. To this...
