It has lost its ability. In a state of fainting, either because a vital point was struck, or because the winds and other elements are imbalanced, there is no ability to hold onto the object of perception. In a state of interruption, either because the object is obscured, or because it is obscured by an obstructing substance, the ability to hold onto the object of perception is lost. In a state of turning away, there is no ability to hold onto the object of perception that one wishes to express. By mentioning "etc.", in situations such as darkness, etc., it should be seen that there is no ability to hold onto the object of perception. In order to conclude, therefore, it is said, "Even if one sees fire," etc. Because one does not distinguish between such and such a nature that is not that, therefore, the cognizer, even if he sees fire, does not distinguish, "This is only fire, this is not water." Therefore, one should not remain seeking the purpose of fire. What should one do then? One should enter that place in order to seek water. Because one cannot be certain that it is water, one should not walk or advance. In this way, the measurer, because he is connected with mutually contradictory actions, this affliction, whether to go or to stay, is impossible, and he has fallen into a difficult situation to overcome. In order to meet the doubts of others' intentions, it is said, "If one sees only one," etc. Because one sees only the unique fire that is devoid of water, therefore one will realize that there is no water there, because there is no other form. The proponent of the established conclusion, in order to place the opponent on his own side with his own words alone, said, "How can one see one," etc. How can one realize that there is nothing else by seeing one thing? Again, in order to meet the doubts of the opportunity for others' words, it is said, "If it is only that," etc. Because one recognizes only the nature of fire that is unrelated to water, therefore, one understands that there is no water, which is the doubt of the previous party. The proponent of the established conclusion, in order to refute, said, "This is exactly what we," etc. Since this has already been said by us in the beginning, why do you speak as if you are dissatisfied with it? Undoubtedly, you have no other escape, so you admit this because you are at your wit's end.

It is merely accepting, not because of fairness. The "other" mentioned above refers to mutually related things being interdependent. Therefore, what exists apart from it is itself non-existent, and what is observed apart from it is itself unobservable. If it is said like this, you will not be satisfied. This is because it is accepted due to being trapped in a predicament, so this is not a fair attitude. To conclude, it is said, "Like a bird that has not seen the shore," and so on. Just like merchants who enter a large ship, thinking, "What harm is there even if we see the shore?" They release a bird to search, and when they cannot find the shore no matter how they search, it returns to stay only on the ship. This should also be viewed similarly. Because no matter how far you go, even to the other shore, you inevitably have to acknowledge my view. Therefore, there is no need for a groundless view to be established even slightly. Whatever is groundless is to argue for a groundless view. Groundless means uncertain and incomplete. If the opponent says, "Only by completely severing the god," and so on. If one completely severs a tangible thing that is not related to other things, and wants to understand the self-nature of other things as non-existent, severance can be established, and negation can be established. Then, when the ground and so on are fully manifested, whether it becomes knowledge of the object of observation without distinction, or other than the appearance of things, everything will be established as non-existent, and not just the nature that can be established in relation to one knowledge, such as a vase and so on. Therefore, it is also not necessary to say that the unobservable thing that becomes the object of observation of things is the difference that proves the non-existence of things. Because when the ground and so on are fully manifested, whatever has not become the object of observation is also completely severed, so what is the use of this difference? This is the previous view. The established conclusion says.
